does this version of the Injen have the "H" pipe? I had heard that will knock down some drone. I have the SES version and drone is pretty bad at low rpm's like that. Was going to put in the "H" pipe if it made a decent difference.

Are u going FI inthe future ? if yes then get Greddy EVO TT. Don't make the same mistake I did. Had Borla, but not very good for FI, replaced with Greddy.

I think the one exhaust that gives the most gains with dyno proof is Stillen. At least that's what I've come across after reading many threads. Never owned it, never even seen one so I can't really confirm it.

The Injen exhausts CarbonLTD are selling are the newer ones with the H-pipe, which is the one i have. hm well im not sure about how the older SES sounds like, but even with the H pipe, the drone is still there on the HR motor. It might have less drone on the DE motors, but I cant confirm that.

going uphill at a constant 2000 rpm makes my ears bleed...but its still worth it.

thats not for the Borla exhaust most people have though, that's for the single pipe catback. The one 90% of people have when they say "borla" is the true dual, which JEGS is actually quite pricey on

they all give similiar gains within a few hp/ft lbs of one another

When you compare apples to apples, a Y pipe + exhaust or true dual, the gains are very very similar

I thought it was the true dual then I just went back and looked...whats stupid is that they share the same part number from borla for the true dual, bastards...

that being said, as its been mentioned many, many many times

A Y pipe+ single type exhaust (NISMO, Fujitsubo, etc etc) has nearly identical power gains to a true dual (Borla, Stillen, etc)
I agree but wanted to add something. The powerbands will be different bewteen exhausts. I witnessed this first hand with 2 buddies who dyno'd back to back in identically mod'd 06' Z's, one had my old Injen the other had an AAM 3" Y-pipe and 3" single. The Y pipe car made slightly more midrange TQ, surprisingly the low end was even between the 2. The biggest surprise was how much LESS the TQ dropped off on the Injen TD up top-for you fast readers read that again thats a good thing. Past 5000rpm's it owned the Y-pipe set-up. And on the highway you could see it with the Y-pipe car usually edging out at first and the Injen car pulling up top and eventually away. Very interesting to see the dyno's then the races play out. Anyways sorry for the rant just my observations...I had the Injen and trapped 107mph with bolt-ons my car hauled a$$

Some of us member's that have been around since 03 remember the 350Z Sport mag exhaust dyno shoot out. Lucky I keep a word file on hand that sums the numbers up.

Real world numbers from the 350Z sports magazine dyno shoot out. Look at torque and where the power is delivered and over what range.

Borla TD (car 2) = 8.2 Hp - 2.7 ft/lbs torque (peak values)
HP increase from 5500 rpm to 6500 rpm range. Lost HP & torque below
1800 rpm. 60mm pipe. Weighs 52lbs.

Stillen TD (car 1) = 8.1 Hp - 7.3 ft/lbs torque (peak values)
Hp and torque increase starting around 3000 rpm to redline. Lost a
little Hp & torque below 1800 rpm. 60mm pipe. 74lbs - 10 lbs heavier
than the stock system.

Injen TD (car 1) = 7.6 Hp - 5.1 ft/lbs torque (peak values)
Small torque loss at 2800 rpm. Torque gain starts at 3300 rpm. Small
Hp increase starts at 3300 rpm, maxing out from 5800 rpm to redline.
Major loss in Hp and torque below 2200 rpm. 49lbs.

Nismo (car 1) = 6.3 Hp - 4.5 ft/lbs torque (peak values)
Developed torque and Hp over wide rpm range. Torque increase starting
at 3000 rpm. Most HP increase from 4800 rpm to redline. No power
losses below 1800 rpm. 54lbs.

5Zigen (car 2) = (-3.4) Hp - .02 ft/lbs torque (peak values) Lost Hp,
no real torque gain. Most expensive. Loudest. 58mm pipe. Lightest
@ 25lbs.

I'm sure all of those manufactures have changed their designs since 03.

I know Injen has for sure.

Your sure.

R&D isn't free and nothing has happened to cause any of then to need to pay for changes.

Stillen hasn't.

Borla hasn't

Nismo hasn't

Injen has straight tip or angled tip or the ti The ti has the only meaningfull change where it's pipe diameter is larger and it has a H crossover.

injen added the H-pipe vs the old Ypipe set-up...which is where those number a few posts up came from.

I have the Borla TD on my 07 and love the sound! I was a bit put off when I read reports of leaks and the clamps coming loose over time so when I installed mine I welded it together and tossed the clamps.

6000 miles later and I have no complaints.
