a shop named performance automotive.

I had met the fabricator drag racing at Atco, and a member of my club had gotten a ****ty exhuast hanger from his POS hks exhuast (they suck) rewelded becuase it broke a hole in the piping and said the work was solid and that it was cheap.

best fix i see is turn the merge into a x pipe and run duals out the back,if you like the sound leave the resonators off.

ok, I don't know why people are having such a hard time with this..

I WANT A SINGLE EXIT EXHAUST. as I have already stated many, many times. if I wanted a dual exhuast, I would HAVE a dual exhuast.

the 'best fix' I see is to do what I have already said: move the y pipe collector point much further up the exhuast stream and put in a resonator or two. I'm sorry to be a dick, but I hate having to repeat myself like fifty times.

also, the 'bad idle' could also be caused by a cracked header after helldorado pulled the codes he noticed that the passenger side header O2 was throwing a code again. I did this exhuast partly becuase I was trying to fix/ eliminate the exhuast leak and I guess I eliminated the Y pipe flex section though I still think it's from the long *** piping before merging!

The cracked header / exhaust leak being unrelated to the work done, BTW. The car had that leak before the new exhaust was put on.

And I do remember it was me squeezing in your car to pull the codes with my scanner.

ooh, my bad sean, that is what I mean.

Helldorado was kind enough to squeeze his viking *** into my Z and use HIS code scanner to figure out what the hell the SES light was

I would've gotten a custom exhaust if i hadnt found my jic ti soo cheap. Have you thought of replicating the 5zigen s-tube exhaust(i think thats what its called) Pretty much have an x pipe where the y would be, run dual parrallel on the drivers side and merge back to a single around the rear sway?

Just a thought i had when i was decideing what to do. Tony's car had it when he was over at performance nissan. Sounded clean, with little rasp and retained some z tone.

Well I personally have a custom 3" dual exhaust with custom 3" test pipes.

From my personal experience, I love the sound, however you can kiss having any real conversations in your car good bye. And this is with a twin turbo set up which muffles the sound a bit.

Good luck with your custom exhaust.

ok, here is the only soundclip/vid I have of the car with the resonators put in. I wanted to update this thread to finish it off.

If I ever get a clearer recording I will be sure to post it up. this is with the two resonators in and the modified Y pipe design:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/f...da001c5a81.htm

the second race you can more clearly hear the note. in the whole video the only thing you can hear is my exhuast and the music he dubbed over it. sorry for the music overdub. I can try to get a clean copy from him if anyone wants it...

only thing you changed between that vid and the first one you posted up was the resonators?

Is it just the video, or did the resonators make your car a lot quieter?
