My guess would be that it will be really loud.. Should weigh much less than any other exhaust if that's more important to you

If he's giving you a good deal i'd take it. Bends don't look great but at least they're not crush bent. Must sound nice though.

Why would you need an X or H pipe?

Also, the only thing I would worry about are the angles of that exhaust. They look awfully sharp, and that could cause some turbulence.

Its gonna be real ****ing loud. And if you have headers/test pipes to boot its gonna be worse. But i dont mind a loud car and i would like to hear what the car sounds like with that setup.

Do it. Post sound clips after install.

That exhaust looks like it will be loud enough to wake the dead.

Looks like some people here aren't educated with the way many Japanese tuner shops do things.

When it comes to routing piping for a turbo setup or an exhaust all welds are usually welded like that. Piece by piece varying degree bends. It's not usually done here but if you take a look at Amuse's or JUN's work you'll see it's a norm.

They do technically wield piece by piece, however they do it in a fashion where it still has bends in it. That kind of sharp bend is not what you want in an exhaust.

OK - so here's a critique from an exhaust designer and tester - qualified if I don't say so myself ;-)

So - that exhaust was designed by a shop that has no mandrel bender, first of all. The bends were created by chopping up U-bends to make the angles and drops. The problem with that, when you use too many cuts, is that the curves are not round - they're like pentagons - and that hampers flow. It's good for a test system - but not for production.

For me - it looks just like a test system - being sold to some stupid US buyer who can't get a refund once they realize how crappy it is, and how they really can't weld on it or fix it here either.

As far as design, for how our cars operate: Unless your and FI car, and really a turbo specifically, your car will loose power up top and down low - of course if you have a REALLY WILD N/A build - it could work as well. Our cars need some back pressure, in fact they all do, unless they are wild builds and really high boost FI'd cars. If you don't believe me, go to a dyno and do 3 base runs, then remove your CATS and go open pipe...you'll be slapping that exhaust and CATS so fast the wrenches will burn your fingers!!

If weight is THAT important to you - like you 1/4 mile or road race at least once a month...then go for it if you dare...for a daily driver...you'll sell the car in the end or put your HKS back on.

Do yourself a favor - keep your HKS or buy the Injen system - you'll get some rasp with testpipes and headers - but your car will wake up people from blocks away and the drone will loosen every nut and bolt in the car, just the way you want it to. Also - you'd be one of the nuts that gets loosened!!

lol. I don't even think it even takes 3-4 paragraphs of critique and science to make a decision on an exhaust system..

Let us know what you decide!

I don't disagree - but a little education is worth it...once I start, it's hard to stop ;-)
