TechnoSquare's HFC Flow Bench (CFM) test results...

where it describes my quest to create High-Flow cats for my Twin Turbo application...Richey @ TechnoSquare was the Fabricator that welded the cats together for this project.
Last Friday i had the chance to use TechnoSquare's SuperFlow Flow Bench test equipment to see exactly how much flow the new HFCs would be.
I set up the Flow Bench Machine for baseline exhaust output to be 400CFM in 20inH20. They have a manual throttle body that is setup and a flange setup to accept many different types of cat pipes. The outlet on that flange was 2.167". Which is smaller than my turbo downpipes, but it was all they had at the time. Note: even with the machine dialed in for 400CFM, the actual output with nothing attached to the rigged throttle body/mounting flange was approximately: 318.0 CFM. Baseline # Loss is due to the throttle body device and all the mounting hardware. All numbers for the pipes should be compared to this to determine flow rate over an open system.

This is the order of which i ran the tests:

Open (baseline)
OEM Cat
Test Pipe (2.25")
TechnoCat (2.75")
I ran each of the pipes five times and then averaged the peak CFM numbers:
Open (baseline): 318.0 CFM
OEM Cat: 143.2 CFM
Test Pipe (2.25"): 266.3 CFM
TechnoCat (2.75"): 306.8 CFM
I was quite impressed with the numbers... The test results showed that the 2.75" HFC retained 96.5% of the baseline flow; over double the flow rate of the OEM cats; and was even flowing BETTER than a 2.25" test pipe... for an even more extensive test, i wish i had a 2.5" test pipe to compare to..
the exhaust on my car (Greddy EvoTT) is significantly quieter now and best yet: NO MORE FUEL SMELL!! My Boost levels are still the same as they were when i was running the 2.25" test pipes, now just need some more road time to see how well the Cells hold up.
These were the first pair of TechnoCats made, there are a little tweaks here and there Richey would like to make, but if anyone is interested in these, please let me know! If there is interest they'd be more than willing to go into production.

Id be interested but only if there is a set of O2 bungs in front of the catalyst as well as the standard in the rear. That way us FI guys get a true AF before the catalyst gets a hold of the exhaust and we still have the stock O2 position.

Those are actually the same CATS the Magnaflow and many others use. I can't remember the actual manufacturer though right now.
This is also the same as the Fast Intentions HFC's. Fast Intentions also has the 300 Cell metallic CATS for FI purposes. I'm not sure how your going to re-create the wheel here though.

How big is the hole in the adapter on the flow bench. This is one of those really informative threads. Everyone always says ya it flows more and for all the people who think "I wonder how much?" this is an answer. I would love to see this done for a stock and proflow ported throttle body. Even better yet a stock maf z tube and throttle body. Then a ported throttle body and a z tube with stock maf and then a 75 or 80mm maf. I got a stock and ported throttle body if you want to do this. I don't have mafs. I'll send you a modified stock cat to test as well. PM me if you have any interest.

Thanks for the testing and write-up. I'm in the market for some cats. Was looking at the Fast Intentions but if your source can offer a competative price, then I'm in. I'm running JWT 530s and Stillen exhaust if that makes a difference.
