Default Anyone get exhaust tickets with Nismo exh?

this is a big problem here in VA Beach, so i am jsut trying to see if anyone has ever gotten a ticket for their Nismo exhaust. cops here are truly worthless pigs, i got a ticket for "aftermarket" exhaust on my 240sx before i got rid of it and it was a stock looking system by Blitz . not much louder then stock. cop had no argument besides fact that it wasn't an oem Nissan part. i guess he was disappointed for not writing me up for a dui at 4am on a Saturday. all this was after spending 600 and thinking it was one ticket would never had to worry about.

Its not even about the money, tired of getting hassled by pigs. i get so angry just thinking how retarded the laws are here and that its pointless fighting it, i could have probably gotten it dismissed but i'd loose more money by missing work vs mailing the fine.

If you did absolutely nothing wrong and then were stopped, then I would agree you were being hassled. However, based on your post, you were not being hassled.

Is law enforcement the only profession where it's bad to actually perform one's job?

Nismo is not that loud..but gets pretty loud with HFC, and gets FUKIN loud with TP.
If you want quiet exhaust go for Greddy Evo2 or Tanabe Medallion.

Yeah it kinda makes you think why the cops are out to do on a daily basis? Stop crime, a real crime or collect money from guys who mod their cars. I see trucks everyday with loud flowmasters and Harleys that wake the dead and the cops target guys like us? I feel your pain and the Nismo Exhaust shouldn't make a big deal...or be that loud to attract the cops.

definetly not, but cops are the ones who have the option of doing the right thing and they choose to screw with people. pigs in this area are profiling drivers b/c of their hobby(cars) and this makes me madder then anything.

this is why i got that Blitz exhaust for my 240 b/c it was the quietest out there and yet i ended up with a ticket. and Greddy does not look stock to me . i guess what i am thinking is if i get exhaust made by Nissan which is and can be installed at a dealer they wont hassle me. and wont be able to argue with me....don't you think so?

i dont want quiet exhaust btw

Thought you couldn't get a ticket for exhausts if its a factory option?

"An Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer pulled over 27-year-old Timothy McVeigh for driving without a license plate".............. He may have had loud exhaust too.

No problems here, just don't drive like a jackass at 3 in the morning and the nismo should blend it quite well with the surrounding.

Hmmm rapists, murderers, thieves.....nope lets focus on the oh so public enemy number 1....car enthusiast

Cops have bigger fish to fry but spend the majority of their time with their thumbs up their rears waiting to respond instead of actively searching for crime

How an exhaust would be worth the time vs patrolling a crime infested neighborhood....maybe it speaks for the efficiency or lack thereof of law enforcement

Nismo is installed on the 07 Nismo Z so its a factory exhaust Thats my story and I am sticking to it

NOW thank god

Years ago I had a Greddy SP (super quiet) exhaust on my SOHC Civic....50 state legal well below 92db

Cop pulls me over (said my blinker was too fast...riiight) and gives me a ticket for my exhaust...I was 18 and had worked hard to buy a legal $525 exhaust system and this cop doesnt care I have paperwork proving the legality of the system....I had to go to the courthouse, show my paperwork AND STILL PAY even though I was 100% in the right...thats how efficient the tax collectors I mean...COPS are for the most part....between traffic tickets, citations, smog fees....you would think our roads would be beautiful but the state uses the money for other things instead of the road! Niiiice

Motorcycyles are 10 times louder and rarely get pulled....profiling for sure

Nismo again, should be the safest bet.....but even still...cops will be cops and their chip will never be off their shoulder when it comes to car enthusiasts

so is Greddy along with other high dollar systems sold in US but here in VA it dont mean **** . according to every cop that has pulled me over in past "it is not factory" then its illegal. now in my eyes this makes no ****ing sense at all...a midas exhaust is "aftermarket" yet they dont pull over every corolla for it. this state is full of ****. it not enough they tax us they have to suck the remaining pennies with this bs. you can bring whatever papers you want to court and try to fight it but in the end you will still miss half day of work at best and probably have to pay court fee.

The Nismo is the oem exhaust of the Nismo Z, so if it passed codes to be sold on a stock car you should be fine.
