Default Is Borla Exhaust Reliable at all?

Im pre planning everything I want to add on to my Z when I get it. Ive got the Rims set, and im pretty sure ill be getting MREV2 and a Duel intake system (07).

Im trying to decide on the Exhaust I want, although im interested in power gains sound is more important. Borla exhaust sounds the best to me. You might disagree but to each his own am I right

Anyways.

I need to know if Borla is reliable, ive read through the forums researching Exhaust systems the past few days and ive mainly heard that it sounds great but sense it has so many parts it tends to fall apart at which point people weld it then it ends up cracking.

Whats the deal? Any experience Borla Owners out there that can give me a heads up on whether or not this Exhaust is worth the Cash?

Any help is appreciated.

Im sure the reliability is there. Its all a matter of personal taste on exhaust tone. Im not a big fan of the way they sound but my friend who has one loves it.

Default From what ive read though...

Every Borla Exhaust begins to fall apart eventually, starting with a leak then lose bolt ons then people weld them and they crack. Is this just a few unlucky members posting at the same time? Or are these known and likely problems with the Borla Exhaust?

Btw grats to you guys that have it, sounds fantastic in my opinion

i think it more falls under the guidelines of people only speak up when chit goes wrong. Forums point out the downfalls and perks of each product on the market. 95% of people will post when something is wrong, only 10% will post when everything is good or still good. So take the posts that state bad things about a product into consideration, but dont make it your final turning point.

I have had mine for about that long as well and no problems. The only thing that really have come to dislike about it is the fact that it looks too stock.

+1, unless the installer is a freakin moron with zero clue about working on cars, none of that crap you have heard/read is true.

Like an Evo is reliable. Pffft.

I've driven 3 9's and they weren't really impressive. Clutch gave out way too soon and the shifting felt spongey. Did I mention the car is ugly as a *****?

haha, this guy is a tool. Evo's are a quick car no doubt, but wow what an ugly *** cereal box it is. After working for Mitsu, never ever would I own that POS. Besides, just this past weekend alone there wasn't a Evo on the grid with me that beat my times at the track. FTD on saturday and 2nd on sunday to a STI. Body roll FTL!

Almost 2 years and no problems. I bought mine used too. Also, you mentioned the mrev2 and dual intake so I'm assuming you have an 07? I don't know if the mrev2 will work with the HR's, you may want to ask Tony@MD.

I've had mine for over 2 years, it was my first mod.....Its still in perfect condition. I think the install and surrounding mods have alot to do with it.

I leaning towards this exhaust also I love the way it sounds with TP's or HFC's or maybe a 3" for my HR...I'm trying to find the lowest price, but there are so many shops that carry this exhaust..Anyone that knows of the cheapest place, PM if you don't mind...Thanks!
