Not saying they aren't bad, but the stock plenum is great for boost unless someone like Cosworth can design one that's fully intended to make use of positive manifold pressure.

I'd never use the Kraknetix plastic plenum on a boosted car.
Check the mating surface and/or gasket, mine holds 15psi all day long. You gained power from not losing it with the boost leak. Even my metal Crawford cracked with big thick welds...

I understand that. I've yet to see any substantiated gains on higher boost, and the stock plenum seems to make considerably nice power. We decided to just run without it since it was just another possible point of leaks/failure.

Now that's a surprise! Can you send me a picture of the spacer and gasket?

Was everything torqued down to spec? I've bench tested them to 90 psi for several days with no leakage at all.

And to lose 30HP with a leak?... it would have to be a HUGE leak. A really bad one. And it doesn't sound normal at all. There are countless MD spacers running good @ 18-22 psi.

I can send you a new replacement if you like. (And please dyno it if you can.) I can't imagine it doing anything but making good gains.

Tony

Yes Kinetic had problems with the first few designs , and the latest hasnt had any problems.
Polymer could be one of 100 million different chemicals all with different properties.

Nope, I don't have the car here. You can ask Performance Factory if you'd like, they were the ones messing with it on the dyno. 18-22 psi? On a 350z?

and how about the stock intake manifold commonly used one many new cars ???? Without running lab tests my Ruger and kinetic manifold feel pretty dam close. But like you said , 87 vs 116 , but they both make a car run.

GTM built Z's and several others.

I'll ask Jeremy what he found.

So has anyone tested the V+ model and have dyno graphs to prove it? It seems like all the negative comments are coming from experience with previous versions of the plenum...

From the website:
Improved in EVERY aspect over our previous intake plenum, including performance:

* 270% stronger than previous plenum

* Incredible heat resistance, improved 170%, now up to 500 degrees F

* Lower operating temperatures - 50 degrees cooler than ANY aluminum plenum option

* More volume! 20% more volume than factory and 12% more than our previous version

* Completely smooth underside with NO flow restrictions

* Can handle boosted cars, with lifetime warranty on cars up to 15 psi

* Lifetime Warranty

Default A little help.... Probably dumb question.

I was recently given a 1/2" spacer. I Have'nt had time to install yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna run into clearance issues. Is there anything I can do to make this spacer work, without replacing, or removing the stock strut bar? Again, this is the 1/2" spacer, not the 5/16"...
