Default plenum spacer waste of money

Me and my friend both have 03 z's with all the same mods accept i have a plenum spacer and he doesnt. when we run them he still pulls a fender on me or we end up even. I was dissapointed with the results because everybody talks up the spacer like it opens up the z so much. Also I have JWT popcharger, test pipes, y-pipe, Tanabe Hyper madallian exhaust (2.75 inch), and 5/16 spacer. He has off brand Intake, test pipes, y-pipe, and cheap ebay exhaust that is (3 inch).

Cheap Parts > Expensive Shiit

If you think a $250 spacer is expensive talk to the guys who pay 5-10K for an exhaust

You probably need a tune anyway....try a search to confirm

If you look at the times here

https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840-top-25-1-4-mile-times-for-tt-st-supercharger-nitrous-bolt-ons-stock.html

you will see many stock racers with better times than modified racers. Does that mean modifying a 350Z makes it slower?

Your friend is a better driver. And you don't have a Z.

on the 2006 model the spacer alone does almost nothing...
you need to have the MREV2 along with a spacer to get gains on the 2006....

i am 22 and my buddy is 20 if that makes a difference. we are going from a role and i can shift just as fast if not faster than him so i dont think it is driver error. and i was not talking about the price of the spacer i was talking about the fact that i have got all name brand quality stuff and it does not perform any better than cheap chit. and the fact that the spacer that everybody talks so great about does not do chit.

Here is a link on my friends site of all my cars from the past and the Z, he has pics of the exhaust install but he has not put them up yet

I'm pretty sure the OP sucks at life in general, this is just one example.

You are a tool. 3whp isnt going to be the deciding factor in a race. My stock Z time has beaten MANY fully nmod'd NA Z's...why? Track conditions, and driver skill or lack thereof primarily. I'll jump in your friends car and put 4 cars on you...then you shall bow down to the spacer

technically you'd have to jump in HIS car and pull 4 cars from his friends car for him to bow down to the spacer

That's why i hate racing z's at the drag strip. It's like it doesn't prove anything. Two car stocks can have diff hp/tq at times. I'd understand if both of you had the EXACT same motor, driving skills, you shifted at teh same rpm, etc, then you can say whatever, but putting bolt ons on doesn't make your car pull A LOT harder. Some gains can be felt but i've noticed it's the same at the end because you lose some low end tq.
