Default Xo2 exhaust with test pipes, way too freakin loud!

A couple days ago I installed the Xo2 exhaust with Xo2 test pipes, this has to be the loudest exhaust I have ever owned. My last car was a 04 GTO with shorty headers and straight pipes, and it wasn't nearly as loud. To me this exhaust sounds as bad as a riced out Honda with headers. So can someone who has had this exhaust and didn't like it, please tell me what exhaust they switched to, that had more of a exotic sound that won't make my ears bleed. I've been thinking of adding resonators right before the mufflers, but I don't want to ruin any chance of selling this exhaust if that doesn't do the trick.

i have the x02 exhaust with berk technology test pipes and I do agree after gunning it to about 4k+ it does have a bit of rice on it ... but the x02 alone is a great sounding exhaust, I just think test pipes brings out a little rice sound in most duals ... but I'm installing my Agency Power 3" single exhaust this week, and I am dreading the wall shattering sound that I'm going to get ... non resonated test pipes + 3" single exhaust = wayyyy louder than dual. shoulda learned from my buddy who already ran that kinda set up =P. If you want it quieter, switch to another dual exhaust (preferbably not nismo since they sound the same), but some other exhaust and if you dont want it as loud, throw on some silencers. I'm going to get 3 holes drilled on my agency power exhaust tip just so I can mount on my silencer if I ever wanted to do so. Good luck and don't get pulled over!

are the xo2 test pipes resonated? i believe adding resonators to the exhaust will reduce the sound it produces.

the agency exhaust is going to be loud as well, but we all have our own definition of loud. some might find it appealing to them and some might find it annoying.
chriskabobbers does have a good. you could always try silencers. they do reduce the sounds of the exhaust,

I would listen to an exhaust on a 350Z before I bought it. But that’s just me.

it's really hard to find the set up you want sometimes on youtube. most of the time ppl just post sound clips of the exhaust itself, but many members focus on what it would sound like with hfc's or tp's, and it's just not there sometimes, and if it is, it probably won't single handedly make the decision for the person. I think many people should post of as many sound clips of different set up's as possible! I'll try my best to post up my agency power + test pipes sound, because if I recall, there's only one sound clip of the agency power on the Z on youtube, and that's straight from agency themselves. though it's going to be hard trying to find a spot to shoot the video, where I live, there's not many places to let loose, especially with the loudness I'm expecting to come out of it all ... but i'll try my best. hopefully all cops will stay home that day

I did listen to as many exhaust clips as I could, but unfortunately its hard to gauge how loud a exhaust is by listening to it on youtube. Thanks for the insightfull post though.

That's very hard to believe!! I guess it's possible, but I have never heard a Z, no matter what exhaust, that didn't sound ricey with test pipes...Maybe your lucky

I think I'm just used to it by now. At first it is alittle weird hearing my exhaust coming from what some consider a luxury sports car.

But then again I drove a 1973 with dual exhaust + glass packs for 2 years of HS and 5 years of college.

We also have a 1965 F1 with headers + dual + flow masters,
a 1969 Cuda with headers + dual + no piping after the mufflers (louder than the G by a long shot), and a 1971 Cutlass (when it did run) with stock headers + dual.

I am just used to really loud cars by now. I also just moved so I am only 5 miles from my job, so it doesn't get on my nerves. Driving 40 miles before the move was getting kinda iffy after 2 months.

The drone could be better. I find I have drone under 2500 RPMs. So I tend to drive in 1 gear lower than normal (I'll leave it in 4th longer until around 3300-3500 and then shift to 5th).

i do the same things you do but even with my vortech, i think metallic high flow cats are sufficient. i would think on a n/a car its more then overkill. test pipes are perfect for turbo applications.

Default no backpressure

how is the low end torque with your setup, seems super free flowing, does it still slam you back in your seat like stock?

I hate rasp and looking to pick up an X02. I don't plan on running hfc's or t/p's. How does the X02 sound by itself. I've listened the vid's on youtube but I know sounds can be very deceiving and don't sound the same in person.

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times... go for tanabe medalion touring... sounds better than any exhaust out there IMO, good quality, and it's rated under 93dB
