my hfc's and a y-pipe came in ! yey ! i got one stock cat off and broke a uni-joint on the second one... stock cats are a HUGE PITA ! but i am determent to kill them tonight

alos looking at the welds on berk hfc vs. e-bay y-pipe I can honestly say that they are very similar in quality. the amuse welds on the other hand are so perfect that the other parts look like some butcher did them… wow ! just wow I have never seen anything like this exhaust.

You can also thank me for not putting a single mark on it when I owned it. It is one high quality piece of machinery.

I have driven this Z 6600mi in 2 years. It has never been in the rain, and has never been washed. It is absolutely spotless, inside out, and underneath, including the exhaust. And oh yea, it is parked for about 6 months each year. I'm glad you found the info on the emmissions cannister, I know I couldn't search through 2 years of posts and find it. The actual installation is pretty straighforward though. I hope you enjoy it, it's worth every penny; which is more than I can say for some of the other crap I bought for this car. You should consider the JIC Y-pipe, it is also a nice piece. Trust me, the Amuse doesn't have much on the JIC welds.

i use the same y pipe.. they're ok, stainless and mandel bent. i doubt that it will make any difference in performanced compared to name brand ones.

The bad bit of the ypipe was the flexi joint angle, it was welded in wrong angle and i have to force it to fit because it was bit narrower, plus, because of that wrong angle, the flexi joint is slightly bulging towards the ground and gets scratched very easily. with stock ypipe, cat was the lowest point of the car but now the flexi's are like an inch lower than the cat, then again the piping got thicker as well so it also adds it there. at the moment one of my flex joints are all scrubbed and inside of it is all exposed, but still not leaking so im still using it. when it starts to leak, i am going to cut both flexi's off and weld new ones in the right angle so i wont get scratched as often.

like he said, its so freggin cheap, actually it costs less than 1/3 of parts to custom make one form an exhaust shop so yeah why not try it?

OT:

Cheers,

i saw that angle thing, so i hope it will work out. as for the flex joits , on the lowerd car they are the firs thing that scrapes.... and when i had a nismo system and the xo2 system they scraped.... so f it.... if they get a tear in them i'll just get another $ 60 y-pipe or a jic

I'm not hating on the ebay y pipe. I'm hating just because I know its 2.5'' inlet, 3'' outlet. get one that has 60mm inlet, 73 or w/e outlet that matches the amuse. It'll sound a lot cleaner.
