I recently sold my Hitech exhaust that I love to go with the Nismo for a few reasons. One being that I want to complete my Nismo theme and two would be that the hitech was a little too low key for my liking. I wanted something that was a bit louder. Hitech has the higher pitch sound which I absolutely love and I guess I'm just looking for feedback on the Nismo exhaust. I got a great deal from James on the forum and I can't wait to get it this week
Btw the Z sounds NUTZ without an exhaust...I fired her up and the whole house shakes haha.

Without test pipes its basically stock sounding but a little louder(that has been said so many times) but with test pipes its way loud.
In hind sight, I would have gone with hfc or just holed out the stock cats.

I hated the nismo, it sounds nothing like stock with test pipes. At low rpm's its horrible, but higher rpm's it sounds ok. Just now what I was looking for and was very dissappointed by the nismo.

Hearing the two side by side I just love the Nismo exhaust when you get on the gas. Not too loud but loud enough to know it isn't stock. No regrets but then again I only paid $600 w/less than 2k miles on it...
hmm...i dont think it sounds exactly like stock but louder. It sounds pretty good when youre on it. Going from deadstops its barely audible. The stock one was much louder going from deadstops. There wasnt enough growl downlow for me so i put in HFC. Its slightly better now, and much louder at WOT. Still not perfect but its good enough i guess

My nismo w/ kinetix HFC is plenty loud for me, especially>3k rpm. +1 on the wearing of the flex joints. If you're dropped more than 1" they rub on everything. Time for a new y-pipe--maybe Stillen this time.
^^+1,000 on the past 3,000rpm it has a mean roar to it, nice and deep sound. I have AEM CAI, DC sport headers, Strup TP and NISMO Y pipe back and it sounds mean after 3,000. I like it and wouldn't think about any other exhaust except for the AMUSE.
^^tnk210 your car is sick bro! I'm NASTYBOY's friend remember I had trouble on the freeway after the H(.)(.)ters meet? You have one of the cleanest DB's i've seen out in this area.

Was everything ok?
Bought my roadster used. It already had a Nismo CAI and Nismo exhaust. In my Z with the top down, it sounds awesome! Even with the top up, it still sounds great -- with the soft top, you can hear it better.
When I start up the car in the garage at work, it echos down the drive ways and usually people who are anywhere near the car turn to see what that sound was.
Plus, when I am coming into work, I like to gun it when I am going up the ramps (in 2nd gear) -- just to set off the over-sensitive car alarms...
Plus, when I am doing econo/traffic-driving (shifting around 1700 RPM with slow starts), in the first two gears, it almost has a slight Detroit big-block muscle car rumble at times.
I remember when I was test driving a couple of Z's, the first one was a stock coupe. When the dealer drove it up from the back lot, I thought that it sounded great. Then when he drove up the roadster (with the Nismo exhaust), it totally blew my mind!
