Default Borla Headers? Hi-flo plenum?

It feels like I'm the only one NOT getting the Borla Dual Exhaust. I've already got my $ tied up into NISMO exhaust, but have the Borla headers on order. $625.00 shipped to Hawaii. I'm hoping for some nice power gains from this coupled w/Doug's hi-flo plenum.

Anyone else buying or looking at the headers?

Any knowledge or ideas of mixing these products?

I've considered selling NISMO set-up and going Borla true duels, but too early.

If you sell the Nismo exhaust you'll probably fetch a pretty penny. I'm selling my Stillen exhaust, but I don't anticipate having another exhaust back on my car until after I move into my new house.

$625 is a special price, to me anyway. $699.00 is list price. Shipping usually kills us in Hawaii. You guys on the mainland should easily be able to match the price.

Great price! Shipping would have hurt me bad. Did you receive them yet? Are they installed, any impressions?

My question is more of what the headers and dual exhaust do together. HP doesn't add up like video games, you might get less of a gain, but you could also get a whole lot more.

Yeah wondering the same here. A great NA setup will be:

Intake + plenum + pulleys + headers + borla dual catback

Based on some of the claims, that should net at least 50-60rwhp.

Seems like 300rwhp is theoretically possible for under $3k if these add up.

Hey ZX, Dont forget some high flow cats to make it all complete!

A lightweight flywheel is good for some extra HP too. Quite a bit for the money in fact. These mods + the ones you just mentioned are all on my list!

That's what I'm hoping for, w/o Borla Duals. Looks like I'm a guinea pig again.....

Besides MaxHax's nitrous issues, does anyone know if there are there any negatives with the pulleys?

Well, I have my doubts on the pulleys. Really, I am not as sure about the safety of those pulleys for the engine right now. Could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time, lol.

Really, I guess what is on all of our minds is how all of these mods add up. Guess we won't know til someone has them and posts the results. I mean, what happens when you don't have the ECU, when you have all those other boltons. And my biggest question, as a cheapstake, which one can I do without, lol???

After following the pulley threads for awhile and thinking about it alot, I really dont think those pulleys can affect the longevity of the engine.
I just cant believe that a thin rubber ring around the crank pulley, will make or break the engine dynamics. As sensitive the ecu is, I think that if something bothered the engine, it would slow it down, by initiating knock retard, like it does at WOT with nitrous. However, those who have installed the crank pulley Show gains that they can FEEL! I like that. I am no engineer, and all this is speculative of course, but if it makes you feel better; When I first heard about these issues, I decided not to buy the pulleys. Now I am warming up for the purchase.

What was this thread about again?
