So whats the difference with the stock and lets say and Nismo 'y' pipe?

Well for one, larger diamter piping (2.5" inlet, 3" outlet), stock is (2.25 inlet, 2.5 outlet).

There's also no heat shielding on aftermarket y's so they weigh a little less.

Some owners of the nismo y pipe and aftermarket tp's (most without brackets) have claimed the nismo y caused the cracking of their tp's) or the flex sections go bad. Not sure if that's true or not.
