Hmmm... might explain why the mustang broke so much...
The passenger side head refered to cyl 1,2,3,4 when looking head on from the front. As you may have already guessed, the driver side head had the other numbered pistons according to the service manual. Hence, I think even Ford followed that Bank 1 passenger/Bank 2 driver convention. As far as LHD vs RHD I have no experience with that but that would be irrelevant in this case anyway.

Edit: to clarify, the VQ numbers even pistons on driver side and odd on passenger side. For example, passenger side is 1,3,5 so thats where I assumed that bank 1 is passenger side
