Hydrazine, great job on proving the "fake" with plenty of evidence.

1) I don't see the evidence where RebelinRI admitted that it was fake and gave citymunky back his money.

2) I don't see a SINGLE SHRED OF EVIDENCE that shows ANY DIFFERENCE from the photo that citymunky provided versus the ones that Tony makes except of Tony saying that he didn't make it. If I'm not mistaken Tony hasn't yet been able to get his hands on this suspected fake plenum and has made no measurements proving that in fact it is not his handiwork.

3) I do see that of the 7 links that Tony posted as proof of Rob selling fakes that only 2 of them remain working probably b/c admin took them down.

4) I do see that Rob has been trying to purchase non-revup lower plenums just like I did at one time to try and modify my own. I know that rob has tried to modify his own lower plenums as his own project in the past and I asked for his advice on what he's noticed from his tests.

Rob and Tony both have offered me much advice on this forum and over the phone and it's hard for me to believe that either of those parties is at fault here. It seems to me like some misunderstanding or miscommunication.

Let's not jump on the guy until something solid is shown. After all he is a long time contributing member of these forums as well as an enthusiast. Just because the guy is recently a sponsor doesn't mean he's not the same guy as before.

 

plus, offering a full refund for a guy who thinks he's been ripped off to soothe the anger of a customer who is being told that he's been sold a fake isn't such a bad idea. I'd do the same. if the guy isn't happy with what I sold him I'd give him his money back because there really is no way of proving that what I sold to him is or is not real (no serial numbers or other ways to prove authenticity on the MREV2)

 

without risking divulging your trade secrets I hope you'll be able to say if the differences are in quality of the machining, location, depth, or maybe that the thing isn't even a non-revup plenum.

to me this thread is getting off the topic that OP is trying to "prove" MREV2 doesn't work... I don’t know how he intends to do that...

civc - personally (if I were Tony) I wouldn’t be concerned about a guy modifying a lower collector... however, I would be pissed if he used MREV2 name recognition to sell them. I think that’s illegal in many (or all) respects.

But still - his original post was to discredit the mod and show that it doesn’t work... that’s what I don’t get.

 

I agree, if someone used my product's name to sell something that they made i'd be pretty upset too.

also, yes that is illegal.

And yes. It is illegal. Not just with respect to me, but to the people buying a fraudulent product under false pretenses.

I really wasn't going to make a big public objection to it as long as it immediatly stopped. But after his first thread was deleted from the classified section he started another one! And added insult to injury with more lies.

I was going to forget about it until Rebelin got all freaked out about getting caught and started making incredulous libel and diversion threads.

He should have just let it go.

OK home from work................... busy so sorry for the late reply. I bought one as told before from a reseller the others were bought from local people wanting to get rid of them as they were selling/returning their cars. What I did was clean these things up for people. Like I said in one of the postings somewhere, too many now, there is a lot of flash in areas. I also get rid of a little more than Tony does on the sides to make the casting line on the sides straighter and a deeper in some cases if I remember correctly. When that's done I'll vapor hone the entire area to clean it up. On the flats up top of the two runners I hit them with a little scotchbrite to give it a nicer looking finish, at least I think so. I then clean up the mating surfaces(top and bottom of plenum) with a EDM stone I have to get rid of any little nicks or burrs that sometimes occur. I guess that is my crime and I guess you could say they are not MREV2 anymore or fakes. For that I'm guilty. I may have over reacted tonight being "called out" by Tony for selling fakes for which I can't turn back time. I see things a little differently and Tony knows how, about the product. I was over my unfortunate outcome of my MREV2, or so I thought. I hope that I'm in the minority with this but I acted in anger, like I would have 20 years ago. Hey if City wants his money back, thats fine and he knows this already from earlier. I bought his second hand with the hopes of making a little money off it. I paid $275 for it and look what I got for trying to make $50 less paypal fees. But my offer still stands to city for until whenever. If it was made by someone else, I have no control. Did I make it? NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're wondering why I inquire about plenum's, I'm trying to put something together where I will be better than Tony's product I hope and hopefully cheaper. Sorry Tony. The dealer wants (last I checked) close to $250 and if I can get off someone here for cheaper, why not? I think it's a win win situation for me and the seller. I'm always fooling with something. I have a new gauge pod for the 350's Nav.'s cubby hole. What else can I say. You will think what you will, I can't change that. Do we end this here Tony or do we continue???

The reason why I didn't "let it go" Tony is as described above. If, as you say, I was caught RED HANDED why would I push the issue? I can assure you I don't come here to make a fool of myself or bad mouth anyone else. I, again, acted in anger. Plain and simple.

 

How many people and who are all the people have you sold supposed MREV2 plenums too?

In addition to how many you sold and who you sold them to, You have a lot of questions to answer Rob.

How many supposed MREV2 did you buy?

Who did you buy them from?

How many MREV2's did you resell?

Links?

Why are you selling MREV2's if they don't work?

I don't think you can answer these questions. Or you won't because you know I will track them all down.

If you can provide answers and if nothing comes up on a check, we don't have a problem.

And they are not real.
