Will polishing them with conventional Mothers metal polish remove the blue? I usually just use Mothers on my exhausts. But I have not yet used it on my Evo TT exhaust.

I have the HKS true dual and use mothers polish with no problems. I dont think the burnt blue will come off very easily.

I dunno, I just use soap and water. I wouldn't use anything too abrasive--those layers have to be thin.

Yes, I would be careful of what you use to clean it.

Defenitly no abrasive medias, emerys, scotchbrites or acids.

Soap and water is the safest.
Acetone, alcohols, Xylene and other similar solvents will work too, but some of them may leave a thin white residue.

What do you have on your tips that needs special cleaning?
