a full tank of gas weighs more than 112 lbs - it will of course depend what temperature it is out to get the exact weight

your girlfriend sitting in the passenger seat has a much different net affect to the balance of the car than 100 lbs at nearly the lowest point of the car, spread down the full length of the car

Okay, sorry 20 gallon tank. ~125lbs.

The point is: I can feel that weight slowing me down, despite its location in the car.

Jeez. Yet another "Which exhaust is best" thread ... and the typical responses. Every random person passing by the thread either comes in and states the exhaust that they bought or else whatever they heard from somewhere else on the forum was the best.

OP Please explain to me how your thread elicits different responses than any other "which exhaust is best" thread ?

In slow car math, if you can tell the difference between a car that runs a 13.1 and a car that runs a 13.0, you must posses the hand of god quite honestly.

As far as working in retail, they say a salesperson is the easiest person to sell. Not surprisingly, you were sold a system by a comission salesperson who sells a somewhat limited range of products, and they likely sold you what they make the most profit on. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, as the HKS, Greddy and Stillen (those are their top 3 brands) all produce similar "gains".

The exhaust you were sold works fine, and is well made...it makes no more, nor less power than ANY other exhaust out there. The differences of course between them all are weight (Stillen is heavier than stock), and the quality of construction and sound.
So whats the big deal for a car running 8.0 to drop to 7.9 vs a car running a 13.1 to a 13. Either is a big drop and not easy.

Actually they both have an effect. The girl just adds weight but since she is in the middle of the car its has less of an effet then a gas tank, yes lower to the ground but its at the rear of the car and liquid moves around a lot! A lot more then the girl in that case. Since the gas weighs more then the girl and has more momentum it might be worse.

In anycase both are negative but Id say the gas is worse in this case.

Ever heard of Google? The web is full of these calculators. They are not exact to the 1/100th of a second, but they are all in the same range, and the relative times for different weights are really close: 100lbs reduction will get you about one tenth in the quarter. Plenty of people on this board that run their cars at the track will tell you the same thing.

1/4 mile time calculator
Yay! Your awesome 1/4 mile bench racing calculator FTL!!! People that have done it are telling you what it is and then u counter with some online 1320' calculator..haha

Nobody is arguing with people that have done it. But most of us don't go out and do comparative runs at various weights and horsepower parameters. Apparently, you have. Please feel free to post your time slips, AND the associated car weight for each run. You don't have any? Maybe you can use one of those new-fangled 1320' calculators then. I'll take the calculator over any chucklehead 17 yr-old here that spouts BS w/o any proof.

What we HAVE done is made runs with and w/o a buddy in the car, and the results are pretty damn close, and about what the calculator predicted. Maybe the laws of physics do not apply in Orlando.
