Default custom test pipes y pipe?

i was talkin to a guy at a local exhaust shop today about test pipes and seeing what he could order for me and he told me that he could just bend some pipes and put the holes for the o2 sensors and it would be fine. the same with a y pipe.

so my question is would this be any different than just gettin non resinated test pipes? or would it just lead to problems?

It depends on the method of bending the pipes...he was probably talking about a crush bends instead of a mandrel bends.

It needs to line up perfectly so it doesn't put stress on the rest of the components. Also, mandrel bends in stainless with bolt-flanges is a good idea. If he can do that with clean welds, then it will work nicely. If not, then you'd be better off buying high quality compontents from a reputable manufacture.

You can get good test pipes for less than $200. I do not see this guy doing anywhere near the quality for a price near this.

IF he can create a y-pipe with integrated test pipes and O2 sensor bosses, as well as the correct flanges, good welds, and stainless piping, he couldn't make enough of them. Unfortunately, that's a big if.

If someone made quality pipes, they would make a hundred, and sell them.

EDIT. Never mind. Companies already do that.
