Default Installation Costs.

Hey guys, I just picked up new test pipes and headers I was priced for installation at 500 anyone think this is a little steep or does that sound about right. If you know a place in Houston that does good work let me know.

Welcome. There are several installation pricing threads in the exhaust forum. For a regional shop you would be better in the regional forum.

I don't know about on the 350Z, but on my 01 mustang gt you had to unbolt the engine, and lift it 6" then you could install the lond tube headers from under the car.

All of that cost me $500 from USA Motorsports. Just to give you an idea.

One thing is a fact... Installing the headers is a long and hard process.

$400-$500 sounds about right for a header install.

Sounds like a fair deal to me. Getting in there is a MAJOR Pain in the nuts! I'd gladly pay someone $500 to do my headers. Though, it's always more gratifying when you can say "I" did that.

8 hour job easy. Especially if you have nice headers. So you figure 8 x $40-$60 an hour for labor and BAM you got your price.

If you do it yourself it will only cost whatever your favorite 6 pack costs.

The shop installed headers and cats in 3.5 hours? I need to give them a call. I wonder how many hours they would take to swap an engine...

Just spoke w/ Rob at the shop. 3-4 hours for headers on a 350Z, $350 all inclusive. So, to answer the OP's question, $500 sounds a little steep.

Hi,

I don't mean to offend anyone but maybe you should blacken out your address on your second picture. I'm pretty sure none of the Z-members on these forums will do anything bad..but maybe a googler might just wander on this page and see your address...and do something. Just my IMO.

Yea, sure. Do you know any of the chuckleheads that told me to hide my license plate number? Dude, you can get the same info by walking down any street in this country. The little number on people's mailboxes, the street name, the city and state, guess what that is? An address!! And that thing with numbers and/or letters on the rear bumper of the car in the driveway, the license plate number!! God I'm sick of stupid wannabe good Samaritans. Sorry, I couldn't help it.
