I am wondering if anyone else have this problem? After i install the mass air senser and the intake ( short ram ) when i take off fast from 1st shifting at 6500 to 2nd shift at 6500 then 3rd and max out 3rd at 6500 and i would press the cluth pedal in all the way and put it in neutral and let it roll. The rpm drop slowly down to idle then way below idle like around 200 rpm to 0 then all the dash light come up! Then either i live it in neutral and start it up agiain or i would put it in gear so that it would start up again.This is like my 7th time that happen already! so let me know! thanks

 

Did you put the sensor in backwards?

 

if he install it backward, it wouldn't even idle.. this is a weird problem.. not sure who has this before..

 

Which intake did you install?

 

Maybe disconnecting the battery for 5 min to reset the Ecu may help.

 

Sounds like you have a leak somewhere. make sure all those clamps and hoses are tight. This what people with blow-off valves on their turbo cars experience sometimes. My MR2 can do this sometimes if I rev, and then just push in the clucth, the valve opens, but doesnt close completely, or in time, or the computer doesnt expect something that is happening, and the revs drops tooo low, and sometimes the car will stall, but anyway, check your connections.

it seems as though Injen is not suggesting their intake for the 6MT VQ35 cars at this time, I am sure that they will fix the problem though...

 

I would note a couple of things after having my intake for a couple weeks. First, make sure to disconnect the battery during install, or after, to reset the ECU. Second, check all of your connections. Third, make sure the vacuum hose is on tight, that the hose is not slack, and that it is AWAY from you exhaust manifold. Due to the position of the vacuum hook-up, it passes close to the exhaust manifold if you do not route the hose correctly. Finally, use the heat shield.

I had idle problems when sitting at lights. The idle would dip below 500 and the engine would chug. This was in Ohio @ 700 feet above sea and an abient temp of about 65. After a week, it went away. During that time, since I was still under my break in miles, I only gunned it a couple times. Didn't have any issues. Good luck.

I have an injen cai onstalled on my 6mt z and havent had any problems. I do however keep the ac on almost all the time. The thread over at fresh was good. I did notice that their intake is different from ours. Has anybody talked to injen about their cai's for the z?
