So I dropped off my car at this shop in town this morning to get a quote on my installation for my Res. test pipes.

They called me and said that it would be 270 for the install and gasket and bolts.


Is it just me or does this seem like too much?

 

There post to reuse the gaskets . And the TP didn't come with new bolts? Way to much money. Shouldn't be more than $100 bucks, max.

 

I'll call them and no i bought them off a member here. One other thing they did say they haev to do is to rethread the o2 sensor housing on one of the testpipes because it was a little stripped but i didnt think that would be too much more.

 

Go somewhere else....rip off on the pricing...

 

I just called a few shops and most of them said they wont install test pipes.

 

The charge that much cause they can since this mod is illegal most places and shop could get fined a huge amount if someone found out. Im sure you gotta now someone that can work on cars. Only takes about an hour to do and is pretty damn easy. Good luck. Id do it for 100 bucks easy.

50 dollars sounds like too much to me for how easy it was. The re-threading takes a few minutes unless they have to go buy a tap...

 

I paid $80.

 

+1 $270 is wayyyy too much i paid $50 bucks for mine.

didnt know shops could get fined for installing test pipes. thats retarded. im gonna find someone to pay me to LOAD a gun for them, then let them murder someone with the gun I loaded and see if I get charged with anything :P
