Also please answer my question/concern on whether these have 02 simms and can be used with Borla Headers.

sorry for the delay guys, I have been answering numerous PMs.

The test car now has 1200 miles on it, so far so good.

Webcarconnection in Puerto Rico has a few hundred miles I believe with no problem.

No they are not available with O2 sims, though O2 sims I'm sure could be used with them.

They will bolt up to any aftermarket header, factory header, y-pipe, etc.

Please be patient, but only only slightly, as I am trying to handle many PMs and emails. If you PMd me and have not recieved a response, please pm again after a coupel days.

The pipes look nice. I'm sort of waiting to see how the GReddy TT setup affects exhaust before I buy anything in that department, but if the turbo downpipe bolts to the stock cats, you can be sure you will have one more customer

I do have one question about the O2's... I thought the OBD2 spec said that the second O2 was there to measure post-cat emissions and oxygen content. If it senses that the cat is not functioning, it will throw a code and usually a light to go with it. I would be curious to see if the ECU is putting a code and not a check engine light? In most states since they gave up the visual test, don't they plug into your ECU and scan for codes related to functioning emissions equipment?

Thanks!

John

That is what he is saying is that for some reason the O2 sensor is not tripping the MIL. I think these are going to be worth it. I placed my order yesterday.

I understand there is no CEL, but my question is more about if the computer might still be throwing a code, just without a light.

I don't really care about the code per se, as long as the computer doesn't adjust the timing and/or fuel curves (like a limp home mode) or if you would have to replace the cat a while before an inspection so the ECU could "learn" that the cat is back in place.

And I agree, I believe there is a good probability that the cat pipes will be a good mod. I can't wait to see some dyno's on them to see how they do on stock'ish cars. For my future turbo system it's a no-brainer

On a previous mustang I took off the cats and WOOHOO!! It was a HUGE improvement in power. On my last camaro I took the cat off also and it made a huge difference, but by that time I had a cam, headers and a bunch of other mods. Stock LT1 camaros only saw about 3-5 rwhp from taking off the cat though.. I hope the Z is more like my old 5.0L mustang

In my 97 Camaro SS I saw 2 miles increase in the 1/4 mile trap speed... and only have Intake and Borla exhaust that day!

Is this going to be a problem for anyone in the States? I've got a feeling our emissions testing center is going to fail me

not if you swap the cats back in before your annual testing. Shouldn't be that hard to do.

Hmm... it's either this or headers... wonder which one would have the greatest gains???

The cat pipes and stock manifolds will make noticable power and is the best band for the buck.

If your not gonna run cats then Long Tubes with an ORP is the #1 way to make 30 -40 HP.

I will never run shorties again, I guess it's just me it's Mids or long tubes or stock.

The cat pipe is a good mod for the price and will make power. Add 5550 for shorties plus 260 for the cat pipes now you are talking LT's that's how I am starting to look at it.

I want true dual.

I just love my car and I am doing some things I have always wanted to do but didn't with prior cars.

FI is one, True Dual is the other. Besides they compliment each other.

I am still very interested in these pipes. I was going to buy them, but ran into some crappy legal issues and now can't pick them up until November or December =\

Oh well, should give me some time to look at dynos and see how much power they make with Borla TD!

Guess I have to eat those words. NEVER say never! I have Borla's on but I stayed true to my true dual and FI though!

When i had the resonator removed from my stock exhaust way back at 300 miles i saw the underside of the car and said to whoever was next me "look at all that room! no way am i buying an exhaust until someone makes a true dual with a decent pipe diameter." I stuck to my guns.

The test pipes run 2.25" diameter in a one piece mandrel bent design.
