Default Turbo XS Exhaust - SOUND CLIP

For all those who read my other post about the turbo xs exhaust and how MRC was selling them for very cheap on ebay, here is finally a sound clip.

I think it sounds great in person and very exotic, but in the video it just sounds like a nismo or whatnot...in person is sounds a big different.

I am not running test pipes but there are other videos out there with ppl running test pipes.

here is the link to the video: - couldnt get too many revs in at different rpms...it is about 9pm and I live in a quiet neighorhood....anyways let me know what you guys think

Is that the 2.5"? With or without silencers? And is it just the catback and y-pipe, everything else stock?

the exhaust comes with an awesome y-pipe. It is 3inch diameter piping. I am just running the y-pipe and catback. No test pipes.

Ah my bad. For some reason when I read the thread, I though it said Top Speed exhaust That's good for me though, because I am probably getting the TurboXS exhaust. I have a TurboXS turboback on my WRX right now and love it.

I assume you don't have the silencers in, correct? It sounds great. Is there any possibility of getting an exterior drive-by/take off sound clip?

I have seen a couple videos with test pipes. I wonder how it would sound with some Berk HFCs - louder than the stock cats, and less raspy than test pipes maybe?

Here you go

TurboXS Catback w/ UTR Resonated testpipes.

You start to get some rasp w/ test pipes.

You either love it or hate it and I'm loving it

Sounds much much better in person

I think it's mostly because the nature of the exhaust being a no bells and whistles type. Most people seem to get true duals or singles, most of which have aesthetics, like burnt tips, or use exotic materials to reduce weight. It's basically a stock style exhaust, without the JDM name like Nismo, Fujitsubo, etc... With that being said, of all the stock style exhausts, I think the TurboXS has some of the best gains.

Are the silencers in during the install? I've never seen the exhaust in person, but is the smaller pipe always visible from the tip? It makes it look like there are silencers in it.

So the smaller diameter pipe before the tips is visible? Not saying that its not visible in other types of mufflers, it's just me nitpicking about my own aesthetic preferences. I just wish the TurboXS had longer tips, so the piping from the muffler was less visible.

Final numbers were around 295 whp with the complete exhaust. I haven't baselined the car since we were shooting to get Race Pipes made and a few other goodies.
