buy a motordyne 5/16 spacer they are proven power makers and you can still retain factory strut bar, Tony is a awesome guy and his handle on here is hydrazine.

I'm running the 1/2" spacer. It does not clear the factory strut bar. Throttle response is crispy as ever. What other mods are you running?

Thanks for the feedback guys.. The reason y I was asking was because I was getting a spacer for 60$ .. But I wasnt sure if it would work.. Right now the car is stock because I just got it.. I see that the spacer is the best bang for the buck with power so I'm trying to do that first..

i have a motordyne 5/16 spacer which was my first mod on my Z and i loved it. its very easy to install you dont need to give it to someone to do it just open up the plenum put the spacer in and you're done. if you want you can clean out your plenums as well but motordyne one is a great buy and definately better than skunks spacer.

It is.. even I could do it

Seriously though, just torque them down properly and in the correct manner and you should be good to go.
Cant go wrong for $60 I guess. I personally spent the extra cash for the Motordyne products. You cannot get any better customer service, IMO. Tony is top notch.

Welcome. Independent spacer testing was done about 3 years ago. Check the Motordyne site for results.

When you say torque them down properly, are you required to use a torque wrench with a specific setting, or do you simply mean be smart about tightening it back up and not overdoing it?

We have the Iso Thermal Spacers in stock, and you are free to pick up or we can have it shipped out immediately.

You can get away without using a torque wrench if you are fairly handy and can gauge your strength, however I would still recommend getting a torque wrench. It is a great tool to have and it is also very reassuring to know what each bolt is the exact torque as the others. Some of the bolts can snap very easily so it is bad to over torque, and of course if you under torque you will have leaks.

True - because of the redesigned plenum and nature of the new VQ35HR. =)

I got the motordyne 5/16 spacer, It was easy to install, & when I took the upper plenum off I sanded it down & buff it out! Now it looks great & sounds great!!
