Default Keep Stock Exhaust After Nismo Install?

Just had a Nismo setup installed this morning and the mechanic set the original exhaust in a corner for me to pick up later. Is there any reason to keep the original (3000 miles)? I imagine the Nismo will last a long long time and I don't know if there is a market for the original setup and I really don't want to try to ship it anywhere.

Not much of a market. Unless someone got rid of theirs needs to go back to stock. If you plan on going back to stock at some point and have the room you should probably keep it.

I'd hang on to it just in case.

it's harder to get rid of one than it is to find one. If you can sell it do it, because there is always going to be a surplus of them when and if it is ever time to go back to stock. But as mentioned above it is wise to keep stock parts in case of failure, or a wreck causing your car to be totalled. If you dont have the stock parts the insurance company takes the car with your expensive aftermarket parts still on it.

Hang on to it. People always sell their OEMs, and then end up wanting them back when selling their car by trading their aftermarket exhaust + stock.

Keep it. You would be surprised how easy it is to change your mind about things later.

Keep it. Then, when you sell your car, put the stock back on and sell the Nismo seperatley. You'll get more money.

The probability that you will ever need the OEM exhaust is slim.
The probability that you will find a buyer is zero.

Learned my lesson on one of my previous cars, sold all the stock parts, then when time came to trade it in, needed all the stock parts again. Kept all my stock parts for the 350 this time.

David: As someone who frequents the marketplace often, that's not quite true. A lot of people are looking to trade their A.M. exhausts for OEM + cash, or to buy an OEM and sell their A.M. exhaust.

About 4 months ago while driving on the fwy I ran over what looked to be a metal trash can (it was already smashed up pretty good). Late night and tired as hell I wasn't really paying attention and sure enough I ran right over it. Long story short... It cracked my Borla TD. How I don't know but I had a huge crack. I didn't have the OEM exhaust so the car was on jack stands for 3 weeks waiting for an exhaust. Had a horrible experience with a member on here that was selling his exhaust so I purchased a Tanabe Hyper and Y-pipe from Gruppe-S.

Just keep it bro... You wont regret!

^Good point. Once, I got a one inch hole in the flex joint of my Fujitsubo Y-pipe. I swapped the stock back in until I could buy another one.

Thanks for the input everyone. I've decided to just trash it and take a chance that I won't want to go back to stock.

My OEM with 100 miles on it has been sitting in the Nismo box in my garage for nearly 2 years now. Will come in quite handy when it's time to sell the car. Even if the Nismo sells for $400 by then (and going by the way I pamper the car, I doubt that), it would be $400 that I certainly won't get from either the trade-in or sale.

For anyone who misses their stock exhaust, contact Jeff at WCN, he has a
crap load of them in the shop. I think he is giving them away. He has
mine there and i haven't missed it one bit.
