Not me, normal racing engines aren't made to be pretty.
And this thing works!

I'm on the list. I eagerly await its arrival. and I wont even dyno it.

in fact..I am not going to dyno my car, ever. I am just going to keep driving it as fast as I can until it explodes.

then I'll get another car, and blow that one up too.

Thanks for the great tut and pics Max, I've been one of the quiet silent ones who've been intently watching the progress of this plenum since it first came into (publicly announced) conception here. I'm pretty much sold now having seen pics of the AWESOME work. Props to Doug for the great work and I look forward to buying a plenum in the future.

Default You're Welcome

You won't regret it. I don't. It's a needed mod for our cars not a "wish I had mod."

I wouldn't go that far, seeing as it interferes with the strut bar..."needed" mods (in my book) are things like side air bags! Performance is secondary in a car that performs well stock.

Honestly... none of these parts sound like they are for you. You instead would buy a ready built car out of the box. Thus your two points with each other are invalid.

If you really MUST know... to help the car in its STOCK for, to keep from pushing - pull the strut tower bar off. Most of us here at Crawfords no longer run the front bar. When shows come around, on go the bars...

Did you ever notice the G35c's do NOT have front bars?

If side bags are what is important to you I can agree with that. It's not "needed" though you can still die genius.

Me? I want to go fast haul asZ and beat everyone that rev's on me!

In this respect it's needed.

I blow by stock Z's all the time, they are popping up like Stangs round here.

As mentioned my STB isn't even on right now either it doesn't go down to the shocks like LS1's do but it does stop body flex and fits well. It's more of an appearance mod techniclly (when compared to LS1 STB's SFC's etc.

Do you race or just go 55mph hoping not to die? If so you bought the wrong car mang...

No. You have both missed my point: It's not needed, it's wanted. There's a difference, that's all I was pointing out -- people who confuse want and need irk me, it's a pet peeve of mine. I am not saying this mod isn't necessary, and I will probably end up buying it one way or the other by the eend of the summer. I don't drive slowly, and I have definitely spent a decent amount of money already on mods!

But, you said it yourself:

You don't need to go fast, you want to go fast. That's all I was pointing out. Maybe I did it the wrong way.

The thing is, what you consider as a "need" (the side airbags), many others might consider only as a "want". It's pretty much a matter of opinion, so you shouldn't be irked if someone else's "need" only rates a "want" on your personal scale of necessity.

I personally feel that all airbags are marginally useful, and if it was truly safety that was "needed" we'd all drive with helmets and 5-point seatbelts. So for me, side airbags are not even on a "want" list.

For the record I have 6 airbags and hope I never have to use them but I have a NEED for speed nnot a want. It''s a physical need like an addiction.

When you play the video game want for speed I mean NEED for speed and build your car do you choose the airbags first or the go fast stuff?

Come on Genius you know you will buy the Plenum, as Doh! pointed out you are talking symantecs now.

Peas!

How much of an increase would the Plenum, and exhaust (say the Borla) and intake yield? And headers? Adding up the cost, going normally aspirated with these parts, you might be able to add a decent amount of power for under 2K.

I thought about it...I would say mods will give you maybe 50% of the claims under normal real world conditions...so if all mods up to a SC give you say a total HP of 350-375 at the end of the road...each 1 HP= a hundred bucks....it'll end up costing over 10 grand for the additional 100 hp these will all add up to.

You guys considering selling polished ones? Would probably find a whole new market.

What is the price on one anyways ? w/ the STB?

We tried polished ones but it was going to drive the cost up another 2 to $300 and the powder coated ones run cooler.
The plenums are still at $400 the strut bar is $200 the core charge is $200
