HKS Hi Power Ti Owners or Vendors, Please help.
Scroll down for Cliff Notes...
The story:
On March 06, 2007 I ask a "friend" who is located in the states to help me out by accepting my HKS Titanium Exhaust then shipping it to Military PSC box (In individual pieces) because there's this stupid limit of how big packages can be for Military mail overseas. This guy verbally accepts, then I ship the exhaust to him.
After months of calls, emails, chat conversations with this guy, on September 10th, I get the box of gaskets, bolts and washers (and Tips). Yep, that's right, 6 months later, I got 1 little box. I figured the others were coming, but by December 2007, nothing else came. I was pissed.
I called a couple times, sent a few more texts, and then on January 8th, another box came. This time it was the X-pipe/H-pipe. So, here we are, 10 months in, and this guy still hasn't sent all the parts for my *****.
By Jan 11, I went to the lawyer's office on base and got a letter drafted. I was determined not to let this issue go unresolved for a year. I let the dirtbag know that I had went to the lawyer's office as well. By 15 Jan, I decided that the lawyer's office wouldn't be good enough, so while looking for his 1st Sgt, I found his Command Chief. Nice guy, really. He told me , "Ok, thanks for bringing this to my attention, imma git in his *** for this one..." That same day, 15 Jan, all the rest of the pieces were mailed out.
This guy had given me countless excuses on why the boxes haven’t arrived as yet. The first excuse was that he sent the package, but the post office sent all of the boxes back because of some error that “the post office” made. I found it quite improbable, but I let it slide since I considered him a friend. The second excuse was that all the boxes were at the post office but he was too busy to pick them up, so they sat there for a couple of months. The third excuse was that he went TDY because of an F16 crash and was way too busy to go to the post office before he left. The forth excuse was that the Christmas rush of boxes and packages must have been holding up my exhaust somewhere in the postal system. Sure, the box came in January, but he only sent one box, not the full exhaust, like we had discussed. I also sent that b#tch a$s m'efer a check back in March of 07 for the shipping.
The Lesson learned:
Don't trust people.
Especially people who drive S2K's. I hope he blows his motor...lol
Cliff Notes:
The story:
I get HKS Exhaust shipped to "friend" because it''s too big for my Military Post Box. I receive a small box with the tips and gaskets and stuff 6 months later. He twiddles thumbs and let's my f%cking exhaust sit in his garage for about a year. At the 10.5 month mark, I call a lawyer. A few days after the lawyer, I call his Command Chief. All boxes get mailed out the same day after convo with the Chief.
Why I'm writing this post:
Both muffler sections came, the H-Pipe is here, got the tips/washers/bolts. I'm still waiting for the straight pipe sections (circled in underbody picture below) Now I just want to make sure that this grimey m'effer didn't swap out my HKS exhaust with an X02 knockoff.
1. These white stickers are on all the pieces. Are these the same stickers that are put on HKS products?
2. Apparently the exhaust was "damaged during shipment." Actually no, it wasn't damaged during shipment, that stupid bastard took a screwdriver and hammer to one of the tips. How many hours of labor do you think it would take to get it fixed?

Dude, you got butt-focked. When I stop laughing, I will probably feel genuinely sorry for you. You can't tell that's an HKS by any distinctive markings on it at all? My advice to you, write him and tell him that some of your buddies stateside will be paying him a visit shortly, unless he fesses up. Hope his conscience and/or fears get to him.
BTW, it looks like it's the silencer inserts that are damaged. Did you do that?

1. I dunno, but that sticker looks like it has Chinese characters on it, which would indicate knock-off, but I'm not a HKS owner and I only took one year of mandarin in undergrad.
2. Those are the tips that are damaged like undgrnd said, but the silencer inserts or what the tips go over. That looks like deliberate damage. Who was the carrier? Was the box damaged? Did you filed a claim with them?
Sorry, bud, looks like you got taken.
Post pics of the tips--that's an easy way to tell difference b/w xo2/knockoff and HKS.

The sad thing is (for me) that the insurance put on the whole exhaust was set at $75 per piece. I'm going to see what I can do to recoup some money from this guy. May just go through the lawyers and see what they say. Will post some more pics of the canister in a few.
Here are some random pics of the exhaust. Can someone please tell me if the exhaust is real or not?
I'm about 99.9% sure that the tips are real, just not so sure about the other parts. (Mufflers..etc)

It looks like you have the real deal. The main reason I could tell the difference is that on the HKS, the silencers? above the actual muffler are rounded....where as on the X02 exhaust, they are more angular.

Yes it was deliberate damage. Looks like a screwdriver and hammer sort of thing...Normally I don't like to wish anyone anything bad, but really, this time I hope karma evens the score.

those Chinese characters means passed / checked
I agree, he wouldn't just mangle the tips because he wanted to. Something happend in which maybe he tried to correct it and focked it up more. Like dropped one of them.
The tips will never be perfect again, but a machine shop can mold that tip back round again. Fairly simple process, not sure how much it should cost though. Like i stated before, it wont be perfect but it will look better than it does now.
