just got my new Y Pipe installed... but now after driving, it smells like smoke under there, smells like something is burning, is that normal for the new pipe?

Yes, completely normal for some odor and even smoke while the residue from the manufacturing process burns off. It should go away shortly.

Make sure it's not touching anything it shouldn't, which wouldn't be possible if it was installed properly. Other than that, some odor is normal when first fired up. Smoke is rare unless the y-pipe was really oiled up. Most of them are stainless, so little to no smoke...

How long has the smell been there for? Because the initial burn in should go away after a short period of time, also check to see that you don't have a small exhaust leak. A leak might be the odor you are smelling!!
