Throttle Body Spacer
Does anyone on here know of a good throttle body spacer? I searched for a bit and could not find one. I was hoping Motordyne had one, but they did not. Get back to me please, and if you are selling one, PM me.
Thanks all, and sorry if it is a repost!

i asked the same question (if they were the real deal or a gimmick) a few months ago and the thread turned into a big debate and got closed
the majority feeling is that they are a gimmick

Ya, I was kinda thinking the same thing but I have seen one once that was like a 1/4 spacer and it looked pretty solid and he said that combined with a 5/16ths plenum spacer gave him 20 hp dynoed. And I know that the plenum spacer only gave him about 11-14, so for <$100, 6-9 hp sounded like a good deal.
Anyway, let's keep this thread going a little bit longer.
Thanks

There was a group buy over on g35driver.com. Many reported positive results related to throttle response while others reported no difference. There was some speculation if the spacer spiral grooves helped create better flow around the bend in the manifold immediately following the spacer...

.
there was a before and after dyno done on a throttle body spacer last year at Church's dyno day.
Installed on the dyno, in front of everyone, etc, and made 7 (or 9, I forgot exactly).
I dont know if they were ever actually marketed or not though, it was the tester one.

The whole concept of someone saying "my butt dyno says 1-2 HP" is so wrong, I don't even know where to begin the flaming. The odds of a spacer making any power at all are slim to none. Just look at the design. You have 20" of tube leading to the TB, and people have been swapping that for longer ones as part of CAIs for years, and there is no relation to power gains. The reason a spacer works on carburated cars is because they have a totally different manifold configuration, and the added volume behind the TB enhances mixture and distribution. For fuel injected cars, it's a hit and miss scenario. My opinion, a waste of your time and money. There has been no objective evidence that I know of to support any benefit on the Z.
