I have to ask...Ichiba Res. Test Pipes any good?
I searched, but didn't get a single relevant thread. I actually had no idea Ichiba made RTPs for the Z. Does anyone have them or used them in the past? If so, could you please offer an opinion? Still debating between Ceramic HFCs or Res. Test Pipes.
I have them.
They are really quiet under 2500 rpms but once you get right above that they sound good.
They aren't too loud either.
I do get some rattle and hissing sometimes but thats normal and I haven't really noticed any rasp.
For the price I would say they are worth it.

Rattle and hissing is normal? Not in my experience. By the way, all non-resonated test pipes sound the same, and they are the same loudness. Conversely, any resonated test pipe sounds like any other, and they're a little less raspy than their lesser brethren.
If you install thin tubing anywhere near the motor, you will hear hissing, and that especially includes the headers. Quality steel pieces are thicker gage and do not hiss. So, test pipes don't inherently cause hissing, it's the characteristics of the material used. There are well manufactured and supported, thick test pipes available which do not hiss, and NONE are suppose to rattle.
