NISMO CAI -> if you rearrange the Letters and strip off the paint what do you get?

AEM CAI (designed and made in the US) with that damn bypass.

Hey Z Powered -
2 questions-
1) What about the quality of the CAI surprised you? Poorly made?
2) How do you know it's good for 5.4HP? Dyno charts?
Thanks!
Mika

No it's not poorly made. It's just that it was so many piecies I was suprised that they made it that way. I am used to seeing NISMO intake with the stock box in the front and just looking more like a factory part. This CAI resembles the AEM but I assure you it's not! Everyone on here seems to think that it is just a replication of and AEM with a NISMO badge on it. Most of those guys have seen only pictures. I have the intake on my car. I assure you it is not an AEM. The bypass valve is higher quality then AEM's. The fit is geared for the car exactly...as to AEM where they seem to be more universal. I had the car dyno'd the day after in the morning. I got 5.4. It says it is good for 5.5 so it was close enough. I am throwing on a flywheel, headers and exhaust system next week and I will put it back on the dyno.

Z Powered -
Does the Nismo CAI take air from the sock location in the engine bay? Does it use a heat sheild of any sort?
Thanks!

Post pics if you can. I'd interest in how it's laid out in the engine bay.

Thanks

It's manufactured for Nismo by AEM (not just rebadged)- The only reason I say this is because AEM has a patent pending on the bypass valve and doubt Nismo would have duplicated it. There's nothing wrong with Nismo using AEM's CAI- in fact it's probably better that way since AEM has done a good amount of R & D on intake systems and makes a great CAI.
