Default Veilside Headers

Anyone have any details on the Veilside headers? Release date? Claimed hp/torque?

http://www.veilsideracing.com/news/ex.html

I found one place that has them priced at $2,399 but I can't get a response to find out if they've been released or not.

For that price they better add a whole lot o' power.

Top Secret has a titanium header that looks identical to the Veilside offering. It's around $2700 at www.raretrick.com I think, but don't hold me to that. That's insane for a set of headers, but for $300 difference you might as well look into the titanium.

Downside is that they are a special order and will probably take 1-2 months to get over to our side of the pond.

Check that. They have the Top Secret manifolds for $2400 at rare trick.

Are the veilsides stainless or titanium?

AFAIK the Veilside headers are only available in stainless. However, I'd spend my $2400 on something else.

just an FYI, Japanese spec headers are different than US SPec.

Also I just dont understand the logic behind Titanium Headers. Titanium has a weakness. Heat. At the temp that a header will make, the Titanium will become brittle and just start cracking. Maybe it's a race piece???

Yes, I realize that the J-spec is different from US- just posted the Veilside site for the pic- hoever I've come across a few places advertising the Veilside here in the US. I can only assume that there is a US spec currently being produced (or will be produced). Otherwise these places are going to have major headaches.

No price available, but I expect them to be almost $3000. That's not worth it for so Ti headers.

Oh if only the headers were more visible. Those Power Enterprise headers are awesome.

I'm sure the titanium headers can handle the heat or Top Secret wouldn't use them. They even use titanium manifolds in their prototype turbo kit for the Z.

Uh...doubt it.

Best to spend the money on a set of domestic headers, like Borla or Crawford Z. They can't be much different, besides the Ti vs SS.

Looking at them, I noticed they aren't equal length. That is, they don't have equal length runners. That means there is definitely room to improve since they don't have the best power and torque capabilities possible. I still remember the old days when a set of decent unequal length headers for a Mustang were $130-200 and a better set of equal-lengths were $150-250. Oh wait, they are still in those prices today. I could understand $600 for the SS Borla headers, but $2400-2700 seems far to high for a set regardless of what they are made of. Especially when the approximate 12 hp gain they will give is a fraction of what an SC kit will do and the same money gets you halfway there.
