The guys at SpecialtyZ are cool. They have done a lot for the Z community. It's hard for him to send you JUST a new muffler section because he doesn't know where the problem lies. Maybe you could talk to Greg or Seb about reimbursing you for taking it to a GOOD muffler shop and have them make any necessary adjustments. Considering shipping that thing back and forth will cost $60+ per trip, plus the chances of UPS mucking it up, I'm sure they'd be willing to help you out.

And please.... if you can afford a Z and a $1300 exhaust, take some time and learn some grammar and typing skills.

When I ordered mine a while ago I was told by the vendor that I would have to wait a few weeks for the exhaust to be built. I assumed this was because they are hand built. Unless mine was a special case due to the tips...

I remember hearing about a few members with fitment issues but it wasn't a consistent issue.

Hey - just a few things:

I don't know all your details of timing, etc...but keep in mind that most business owners are NOT sitting in front of their computers waiting for emails...and typically, I would expect, most emails would be responded to within the next business day...that's reasonable at least. If you emailed over a weekend, well, remember most may not be working etc...so again, I don't know the details, but at least keep things in perspective.

Over the last 2 years - I don't think there has been a single REAL issue out there that Tony has not made special accommodation for...in fact you'd be hard pressed to find even a handful of posts or threads that have ANYTHING bad to say about the product for service...and as you mentioned, there have been a few small things here and there...but all taken care of.

So - your warranty issue and your daily driver - honestly - it's not a manufacturer's 'concern' that you wont have a car to drive. Do they care - absolutely, BUT, they still have to figure out the problem and make sure it isn't something that will happen again. The only way to do that is to see the part. You could always swap your original exhaust back in while the repair is being made...and then swap back. Is that costly - sure, but you have to keep in mind that you did make a long distance purchase for an aftermarket product...you chose to mod your car...and that typically ends up in extra maintenance costs, etc. These things are your responsibility - it's not a factory item - issues can happen, and a vendor willing to support you is what you want and are asking - and you have one that is.

If you have a laptop - and it has an issue, but is under warranty - you may have to send it in to be fixed - that could be 2 weeks of being without the laptop - they wont give you a loaner. Water heater breaks - you don't get a loaner while the other is being fixed...so you have to be reasonable too.

Tony can't just make a brand new unit for you and send it off and get your used one back and trash it...that's very costly...it can't be resold. Issues like this happen once or twice a year...and it happens. You may not be happy with having to go about this the way you do..but you do. This is how ANY other vendor would work...be it a plenum spacer, intake...anything.

Also - do remember - there's always the issue of what if the customer installed the product wrong? Bent a flange and that's why it wont line up - what if the s-pipes are on the wrong sides, etc. It's hard for Tony, or any manufacturer, to treat issues like this as if you were standing in their shop...when your not.

Lastly - bashing your vendor on the boards - because you can't afford the downtime for a repair on an aftermarket product, is not the BEST way to get further support or accomodation.....

Rick

Why don't you just put the stock / previously installed exhaust back on in the mean time?

You can run around without that piece - no big deal (maybe just a little heat shielding from AutoZone pointing down so you don't burn the undercarriage where it's disconnected). Fact is the mounting for that exhaust in your car may be slightly off (either because of the exhaust or because of your car). He can adjust your piece (customize for your car) - and send it back. You could probably have a local exhaust shop help you out for under $50 and you wouldn't have to wait without a muffler.

Its a very small 2-3man company. Give Tony a break. You cant expect him to just build you another one and ship it to you just because you dont have a 2nd car to drive around.
When I installed mine the exhausts didnt all line up perfectly in the rear. However with some adjusting of the hangers I got it down perfectly. It was nowhere the exhaut's fault. I intentially bent the hangers for my previous exhauts so i ust had to rebend it back.
I think Tony and Fast Intentions as a company have OUTSTANDING customer service and their products are GREAT!

i agree tony and fast intentions have been awesome for me i had a small issue with my purchase and he resloved it extremly quick i am actaully at a fault because i have had to send him back my previous product back but since i had personal issues i havent been able to get it back to him in a respecatble time period but , i would rate tony and fast intentions as superb customer service and would def vouch for them.

Hey they made the labree test pipes etc ...they get much respect and props. My only fault is me not shipping out my returned product but it will go out when i am back on my feet with certain things.

I would def vouch for them for excellent customer service.

I luvvvvvvvvvvv mine. It fit perfectly - except the drive side tip didn't extend out quite as far as the pass. side, I called Tony and he helped me adjust it and even sent me extra gaskets to insert. His customer service was exceptional, in my opinion.

Tony will make right by this, but you also have to use some logic and exercise some patience.
