You can get the lightweight JUN flywheel from Signal Auto (So. Cali) for $430 + S/H. I already got mine a month ago but I haven't put it in yet cuz I'm waiting for my clutch to be done. RPS is designing the clutch right now. I'm gonna have the first one that they make. I'll definitely let you guys know when I get them installed.

cbsuper how much did it cost you to get it installed? Signal Auto is charging me $380 w/ warranty.

Have any of you guys seen the Exedy clutch/flywheel for the Z33? Here's the link: Autocarparts.com. The Exedy Hiper Single/multiple Plate clutch set is what I'm curious about. Does anyone know if this setup is better than the JUN flywheel combined with RPS racing clutch?

YES IT DOES!!!!!!!!! B4 2000k it would vibrate a lil and make a cement mixer type of sound..

It make's the noise cause there is no silencer on the JUN so thats what makes it so light.

I installed the Nismo clutch afterwords and the noise went up 2x as loud!!! Im not sure cause if its from a new/diffrent clutch or when they changed my trans out they reinstalled it wrong. How can I tell this? When im in 3rd and below 2k my whole car vibrates!! Any installers help on this?

I have the light Nismo flywheel and clutch setup on mine. The chatter is between 2k and 2.6k. This is normal and will not hurt a thing.

dwende170,

yeah, i seen the exedy single carbon fiber clutch with lightened flywheel. I seen it at the exedy booth at the D1GP and it looks really good, everyone says this single plate clutch is very streetable. I'm just waiting for the price to come down a bit as they are pricey, the whole thing was like 1600 bucks with carbon clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. I haven't found one person with it actually in the car yet, so until then i guess we won't know how the thing actually performs, but i'm putting it on my want list for now.

Yes, it sounds like your lugging the engine in a concrete truck between 2000 and 2600 RPM.

Mine makes very little noise with the stock clutch because it is sprung. If you go with an unsprung clutch it will chatter alot more. Don't get me wrong it does chatter with a stock clutch but its hardly noticeable. As a matter of fact not one person has noticed the sound unless I tell them to listen to it. Best way I can describe the sound, is it sounds exactly like your stock setup just louder. Don't let the sound scare you. The flywheel and Nismo headers are my favorite mods. Those two mods are the only two I have done that I actually could feel a difference in acceleration.

I installed a Nismo Flywheel with Stock Clutch and at Idle my car sound like a Cement Truck Spinning full of Gravel from outside standing about 1 meter away. Do you think this is normal?
I understand that the lighter the flywheel, the noisier it will produce.

Also the car doesn't produce any noise when i start the car on early morning. But after driving for about 10-15 min the car start to produce the rattling sound and same for Idling.

I can't speak for the NISMO flywheel but I can hear it on the JUN from about that distance.

Yeah mine does the same thing. In the morning I can't hear any chatter but once it warms up I can start to hear it.

Ah ok Thanks for the tips.
I'll have them open up this weekend to see, if it's the nismo FLywheel problem.

Btw one more question.
Do you ever try to drive slow start from 1st gear and to develop the rattle noise and can it be heard from outside from about 1 meter distance as well, while the car is in motion (slowly with noise develop)?

Yeah I get the noise usually when I am moving slow in between idle and 1500 rpms. After that the sound goes away. .
