HFC-Nismo Y-pipe-OEM
Ok I have a set of metallic HFC and will shortly have a Nismo Y-pipe. Now I know that the Y-pipe of the Nismo is greater in size than the midpipe but how much power am I going to lose by going from Berk HFC to Nismo exhaust to oem mid pipe and muffler? Also will it cause any proplems in upper rpm ranges besides loss of power? I assume no but not sure. For everyones eae of mine I intend to change out the midpipe and mufler as well when excess play money comes around.
Let me get this straight. So you have a Berk HFCs and Nismo y-pipe and want to pair it with OEM mid-pipe and muffler?
I see no problem with that setup. You will not lose anypower, I think the OEM midpipe diameter is somewhere between 2.75-3.00". If I recall, Nismo y-pipe has a 3" collector. I seriously doubt you will lose any power with your setup.

The stock piping beginning from the merge (from the 2 inlets of the y-pipe) is 60mm (~2.36"). Most aftermarket exhausts are 76mm (~2.99") beginning from the same collector (where the 2 inlets merge on the y-pipe). Some, like the JIC y-pipe, are 80mm (~3.15") in diameter. Others, like the Tanabe y-pipe, have the 70mm (~2.76") diameter.

BTW, look at the pipe sizes I posted above yours for the correct sizes.

But like the moderator said, these are minute differences, nothing you should be tripping over.
$100 says you won't lose any horsepower.
