Default Nismo R Tune Cold Air Intake

Hi there,

Anyone have any experience with the Nismo Cold Air Intake?

I am looking to get it, however I am not 100% confident that its worth the extra $$$ over the Injen.

Any pics appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

I'm interested in comments as well.

I will say that it does have a bypass valve in case of accidental water ingestion. This happend to my 300ZX TT once - engine was totaled (covered by insurance luckily).

Here is a link to the NISMO R-tune 350Z Cold-air intake:

The Nismo would be warrantied, that's a good reason. Do a search and see comments and stuff on people that have them installed.

The Nismo intake isn't warrantied. It's R-tune, not S-Tune. Although apparently the exhaust is S-tune, so that's warrantied.

Yeah, my bad, I realized that after I saw R-tune.

JZC,
So what do you think of it? How's the performance? Sound? Any problems? Easy to Install? Thanks!

It looks like a repackaged AEM intake... Am I the only one that sees that... They are similar for sure not sure if it would be worth the extra money

I am planning to install ati procharger really soon. Will this CAI be in the way of the supercharger?

It won't be there at all if you go with the supercharger, the S/C would replace your intake and tubing....

Last I heard NISMO was using another company for their intake...and most of their other 350z products as well...so yes, thats probably just a re-badged AEM intake.

Kinda sucks that they would charge so much more for the product. I'm rather disapointed (as im sure alot of other people are) with the pricind and avaliblity structure Nismo is using. Ah well, what are ya gonna do about it?

TRD and others are NOT rebadged parts made by other companies. To tell you the truth from what I have seen so far Nissan thinks that we are a bunch of idiots and will pay whatever they what form products that they claim are NISMO. Not only that but when you buy Nismo-R parts they have NO warrenty, I don't get it? Why would you buy a NISMO part when its not really a Nissan developed part for our cars? F U Nismo clean up your act.

FYI, Nismo doesn't make a cold air intake for the 350Z.

Yes they do but it was pulled from the market because Nismo was not happy with the quality the hose. (It is actually a rebadged AEM intake) check out this site...

Nismo Japan doesn't make a CAI. Check this website:

http://www.nismo.co.jp/catalogue/pdf/z33.pdf

They only make an air filter element. I think Nismo NNA is hosing some of you folks desperate to keep all things Nismo.

One thing is different for sure. The NISMO has a bypass valve (which I consider very important).

But you can also purchase one separately:
