Bassani Exhaust Installed...
#21
Congrats on a very descriptive and accurate post. I too just got done installing my Bassani exhaust. I also used the "4 jack stand" method. Pretty much everything you stated was true, the muffler(s) were a pain in the a**, the muffler hanger on the passenger side is laying on my work bench, I'm trying to figure out how to get it in yet. Yes, you can definitely feel a difference, and the sound is exactly what I wanted, little louder than stock, with a "tighter" and "fuller" sound.
There are only a couple of things I would've preferred Bassani do differently. The muffler assembly isn't exactly in the middle of the car, which looks somewhat odd from the rear of the car. The "side by side" mufflers, in my opinion..........looks far better from the rear than 2 mufflers mounted in your more traditional "front to back" setup. You can see them better, and it makes the car look lower from the rear. The other thing(this almost made me not get this system) is that the exhaust "tips" stick out about 1/4" more than the stock tips. I'm getting used to it already, mostly due in part that each tip has "Bassani" engraved into them, that looks cool.
Overall, the system sounds awesome, and doing it myself is what I prefer.

If you are talking about the Bassani exhaust, then that is far from JDM my friend. It is American made, another reason I did not buy it. Not intending to discredit domestic products, but I would rather have something made by Nissan or their affiliated companies.

My only single gripe is that I think that could have arranged the piping on the passenger side a little better, instead of having it look like the other tip comes out of no where.
Still one of the best sounding exhaust for the z evar!

I really don't like this exhaust. I was very close to purchasing this, but I am so grateful that I went with what I have now.

Believe me, my nismo exhaust and test pipe combo sounds amazing...but the exhaust cracked my test pipes so i have to get that fixed...the nismo is infamous for this...i would think the bassani with some resonated test pipes would sound otherworldly...someone needs to get this setup and post clips asap
