Can some one please post pics of their borla muffler that they used alluminum polish on. I am getting mine later this week and am very interested in how it looks, thanks in advance. brad
Originally posted by jhn I don't know about using aluminum polish. I had mine polished by a metal fabricator for $50 and it looks really nice. It looks like its crome plated.
What kind of process(es) did he use? Machined? Polished? Any ideas?
I don't have any pics right now, but I used Mother's Aluminum polish on the muffler and tips and it looks great. Although you really have to try hard to even see the muffler under the car.

Thanks...
They Used a high speed 16 in buffer with a couple of buffing compounds. It took 10 minutes to do the whole muffler. It was just a normal stainless steel buffing/ polishing procedure.

Thanks for the insight. I'm probably going to try something similiar when i receive my Borla. I'd like the muffler and pipes leading up to the tips to look like chrome (or as close as I can get it). Shouldn't be too hard...just a matter of finding the right compounds and putting them on in the right order. I'll post details and pics upon completion.
