Default cleaning popcharger?

So I'm new to having a popcharger on my car. I did some searching and couldn't find any thread that says the best way to clean it. Go ahead and flame me, but before so could someone please enlighten me?

Do Not Over Oil It!!!

How old is it? Be sure that you need to clean it.

I have no idea. It was on the car when I purchased it. Mine looks red instead of gray though

+1 you can go to Autozone and find it there. They call it the K&N Recharge kit.

you could always replace that filter with a filter media dry filter and never have to oil it.

I'd also make it an all day process IMO unless its pretty hot and sunny day. Don't over oil it and let it dry thoroughly otherwise it can get on your MAF.

To help assist in the drying process you can use a blow dryer but time is your best friend. I used an air compressor and a blow dryer. Honestly i should have just planned for an extra 3 hours because it was a tetitous process of getting it to dry in half the time.

i dont think your supposed to blow dry or use an air compressor. blow drying can shrink the cotton. and an air compressor damages the cotton. air dry only......i could be wrong though

Hold the filter up to a light. If you can see the light through it, no need to clean.

Also, if it is red, chances are someone already cleaned it (it comes from JWT as blue).
