There was a Z at Stillen Day that dyno'd with the Tanabe exhaust. He pulled a 220 rwhp (from what I remember). Most stock Z's are puilling 230-240 baseline. Of course the guy may have just had a weak car. You may want to go spend $50 to dyno your car.

Yeah I remember seeing that. I also remember seeing a "Slightly used" Tanabe on Ebay about 2 days later.
Yeah i would advise against the Tanabe... it looks nice and sounds nice... but that's about it. A week or so afterwards I heard of another dyno on the Tanabe and again lost power, and this is from a friend who works at a dyno shop.
and BTW my S-AFC II goes in next week =)

hey guys thanks, Failsafe3 my car put 227 to the wheels with cai/grndwires/exhaust. but this wasnt on a dyno jet type dyno, i cant remember what it was called but i do remember him saying that it was like a mustang dyno?????it just sounds SOOOO nice!!!hey SizongZ how is your afc-II going in next week???? ive got a friend in the tuner biz, and he sold me his display model 2 days after it was released stateside! but ill be d@mnd if i can get the diagrams to hook it up! do you know something i dont know? do you have the sheet i need to hok it up? and if so where can i get one?!?!?! no luck from apex, i called them, and they told me to keep watching their web sight!!! that was a month ago! thanks guys!
My AFC is being installed and tuned by XS engineering... I personally don't know squat about tuning. Don't understand why your friend didn't give you the wiring diagrams unless you got the J spec model and books in japanese. If that's the case APEX here in the states will not recognize or warranty it. If it is a stateside one you should have got two books in english. One on wiring and the other on tuning controls.
I got mine from a hookup when Apex-i officially released the US model with english books about a month ago. Just haven't put it in yet cause I had to put in my exhaust which goes in this weekend. You will know if it's a US model by a small icon on the top right corner of the box that say export only... or something like that.
I don't think they will release the wiring diagrams on the net. They are kind of slow on their website.

my friend did sell me the us spec model ( about a month ago ) and the books are in english, its just that our Z isnt in them! is it in your book? i called apex before it was released and asked if it would work in my 350 ( because i saw an add with it hooked up in a j-spec Z ) they told me that it would, but i was going to have to wait for them to release the wireing manual for my car, and told me that it wasnt going to be in the book that comes with the unit. after i bought the afc i called them again and told them i need the manual for my Z, and thats when they told me to watch the web sight, that they were going to post it up there. the last time i talked to them they said it woud be out by the "end of the month" that was LAST month! im getting a little in patient! any help would be helpfull!
Truthfully I haven't even looked into the wiring manual to see the wiring diagrams on the Z cause I'm not going to install it myself. But I will look in the book when I get home later this weekend and see if the wiring diagram is in there. Plus I"m going to ask XS how they wired it and tuned it when they are done....
