Searching for Feedback on Bassani w/Berk HFCs Setup
I got a chance to test out a Bassani system on my HR...but I left the Berk TPs on--the clip below isn't very good but should speak for itself:
http://cid-e97123214e8a140e.skydrive...Bassani%20Rasp
Took the TPs off and put the stock cats back on...but I have no better audio than this: https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exhaust/350961-bassani-exhaust-sound-clip-hr.html</O
<O
<O
However, I'm thinking of going for the Berk HFCs...anyone running this combo? If there are folks w/posts of this setup and I missed them, I apologize and will spank my search button immediately. </O
<O
<O
BTW--the sound of the Bassani in person w/the stock cats is hardly audible at idle...until you open it up a bit...than the system comes to life, producing a rather exotic exhaust note that I never heard w/any other system. Yes, it's addictive--I confess I drive just to hear it.
</O
<O
That said...I loathe and fear rasp like no other sound...loathe its cheap metallic rattle and fear every waiting cop listening even as I merely decelerate. I'm hoping I can gain a little power w/out producing so much rasp by introducing a set of HFCs. Any feedback on a Bassani/Berk set up welcome. </O

I appreciate your sound clip of the Bassani exhaust with test pipes. Raspy indeed.
But I don't have intentions to put test pipes on my car once I get the Bassani, so I think I'm good.
For the people that are looking for an exhaust that doesn't sound raspy with test pipes, listen to the Fast Intentions. Sounds nice with little to no rasp. I've seen dyno's that show proven power for the FI exhaust also.

Just following up w/some answers:
Cost: I ordered the Bassani through an authorized dealer for 950--they called Bassani directly and it shipped in a few days.
It comes in 2 boxes...1 for the muffler, pipes, tips, and clamps...the other for the X pipe.
HFC: metallic...I don't mind an increase in volume or even a hint of rasp--but nothing like the effect I got from the TPs.
Aside, one other effect I experienced from the TPs was uneven flow at highway speeds in 5th and 6th gear. Upon accelerating, the exhaust would seem to studder it way through the system--this was not only audble in the cabin but could be felt--even by passengers. I'm sure this has something to do w/pipe sizing, exhaust pulses, entropy and so on--all things of which I have only a slight grasp.

Installation proved to take more time...and I ended up having a shop do it. I had to cut out some of the rear aero to clear the plastic that the muffler(s) sat on and push down a bit. It was very little...maybe a half inch x the length of the mufflers--no one would even notice as I sanded down the rough edge and will eventually put on some thin rubber edging.
Aligning the tips seemed to take a micrometer’s eye to correct--again, the aero kit was the culprit...this system should bolt up very neatly on an 2003+ Z with a stock rear. Other than that, I had to remove the under-brace--the black tubular one--because there was no clearance w/out adding some washers. I’m looking for an alternative brace (any suggestions there?).
More to follow when the HFCs come in....

As far as bracing, I passed on the GTspec under-car braces due to complaints about fitment along with very minimal or even no noticeable difference after being installed.

Its the black V shaped brace(?) I'm only guessing that, given its location, its designed to mitigate body roll.
GTSpec...I know the rear tie and front lower tie fit--I bolted mine on during the exhaust install. I also heard about fitment issues w/the mid chassis brace and the rear lateral arm brace. Might have to come w/something custom.
