More info ?

Your pipes will turn brown from heat but the muffler shoud be nice and shiny. I have had mine for years and on two different Z's. Chrome wheel polish works wonders.

Meguiar's Mag & Alluminum polish works great for exhaust.

As for the browning, it could be normal... some more information on exactly where it is browning would be helpful. (The tips? Muffler?) The cat to the muffler will probably turn brown from the heat and abuse it takes... so don't be too worried about that part.

From the catalysts back to the muffler this is normal... you wont be able to polish it back to new, this is what the exhaust heat does. As others have said though, the muffler should stay shiny, mine has for over 2 1/2 years now.

If the tips or canister are browning, I would complain, but if you are concerned about the mid and y-pipes, they are not visible unless you crawl under the car I just got my Nismo, so I will keep an eye out.

stainless steel turns yellowish when you heat it up, that's a permanent effect
