how important is the O ring gasket on Nismo exhaust? I have all the other gaskets except that, if i intall without it what affect will i have? thanks

 

I tried installing mine w/o the o-ring gasket as well, and I had a noticeable exhaust leak. I just ended up buying high-temp gasket maker material (comes in a roll and is black, found at any auto parts store), and just cut up two rings to use as a replacement. Won't work as well as the o-ring gasket, but seems to work fine for me - no exhaust leaks.

 

how can you tell if you have exhaust leak, in case of no O ring?

 

I just started the car up and put my hand around the exhaust to feel the leak. It was a pretty bad.

 

Where does the O-ring gasket go?
