OP, although i have no idea what you're asking, you did say the words "nismo", "exhaust" and "droning", so im gonna assume that you dont like the way your nismo exhaust drones....

so im gonna say that MY nismo exhaust with the new motordyne XYZ pipe and resonator does not drone AT ALL... and this is with test pipes!

that is all, you could be asking something completely different though...

 

what test pipes are u runnin w/ the nismo and xyz pipe, and are the resonated?

 

running helix non res TPs... with the resonator on the XYZ theres almost no rasp now, no hiss, and no drone... im gonna post some sound videos soon..

 

I would like to hear this cause I have no idea how rasp and drone sound like.

I love my exhaust setup. I wouldn't switch it for anything.

 

never mind... bottom line is, this Nismo S-tune is perfect... not too loud that it gets annoying or get attention from cops, but loud enough that ppl know you have upgraded exhaust....

actually the nismo is pretty damn quiet. unless youre romping on it all the time. which i dont think you do around the city. in which case, nobody will know you have an exhaust.

gino, how much louder is you TP + xyz + resonator over your old set up of nismo + hfc? and hows the TP smell etc with xyz?

 

my current setup is louder but rasps alot less (almost not at all) than when i had the berk hfcs and nismo (crazy i know)... it is also suprisingly very pleasant on the freeway, whereas my old setup with the hfcs used to drone... the hissing caused by the TPs also pretty much is gone after putting on the resonator.. i really cant say enough good things aobut this XYZ and res...

im sorry i've been laggin on the clips of my setup after the resonator broke in... i just dont have a very good camera for this right now, but im tryin to get (or borrow) one... i will post soon... but i wish you could hear it in person... it sounds really good!

i know you want louder... so if you have the money and dont care about running TPs, i would really recommend trying some 2.5" resonated TPs with the XYZ and resonator... i would run this setup myself, but here in cali they are really cracking down on emissions, so im gonna run the Berk 2.5" HFCs as soon as they are out...

 

well i dont want it to be TOO loud. As i read that TP can get pretty loud as compared to hfc. I know that TP are much louder than hfc but you have the resonator so that might tame it a bit so its kinda lowering the volume. So i guess what im asking is, how much louder do you think your current setup is compared to your old?

oh yeah, where did you hear about Berks 2.5?

 

you know i was so worried about the TPs being TOO loud also... but then when i installed them, i was pleasantly surprised... its def tamer with the XYZ and resonator on there, but its also much smoother and better sounding...

the best way for me to describe on how MUCH louder my new setup is than the old (berks and nismo)... well, lets say on the loudness scale of 1 to 10 (10 being super loud), if nismo with stock cats is a 5, and nismo with HFCs is a 7.5, i'd say the nismo with TPs and resonator is about an 8.5...

that made alot of sense. sounds good. maybe the 8,5 is a bit much. an 8 woulda been good haha

but still, the thought of test pipes still dont quite appeal to me. Id like to go greener with the hfc. I guess like you, ill wait for the 2.5 berks

 

The Nismo sounds perfect at WOT with stock cats...
