+1 a new exhaust was one of my favorite mods cause you hear it all the time when you drive....especially when you floor it.

I know what you mean.

Dropped a plenum bolt in the engine bay. Had to jack up the front and remove the underpanels to retrieve it.

Mine does. My right side sits a tiny bit lower. Same thing with my stock exhaust as well.

WTF is that???

Also I have a slight rattle @ idle in the midpipe area and in the left rear. Is there something I should be aware of?

Having the right tools will make life super easy, another reason for doing the turbo kit install myself is that, any tools I don't have, I have zero regret in buying them since I saved 1000+ on the install.

In your case, 100 or so could have bought you a breaker bar, another jack, some boards, and set of jack stands.

Now it's time to almost reinstall your exhaust.

Back over 2 boards, one under each rear tire, use your jack with a piece of wood on the part that touches the car and jack the car up using the rear end, get the car high enough to put jack stands under each side of the suspension.

Once that's set, remove the jack from the rear end and jack up the sides of the car at the jack points behind the front wheels, you should have more then enough room with out needing to run the front up on boards or remove the front bumper cover.

Once the front is up place jack stands under the front cross member?

BTW harbor freight has jackstands for 12.99 or at least did 3 weeks ago...

Once it's up, get under the car, loosen the midpipe going from the Y pipe to the exhaust end/tips, it will have some room for adjustment, just move it around till it gets the max clearance, mine also rubbed with using the stock y pipe. Slight adjustment fixed the problem.

What's sad is once the car is jacked up on all 4 jack stands, if you have a breaker bar, and a single 14mm socket, the remove/install exhaust job is no longer then 30 minutes. I think I could remove my Invidia exhaust in a good 5 minutes max. I added 25 minutes to dropping the stock exhaust since you might get a bolt that's a *****, but a breaker bar will fix that problem easily. If it doesn't, just use force till the bolt snaps off. =) P.S Use Liquid Wrench on all the bolts before trying to remove the bolts, also WD40 on the rubber exhaust hangers does wonders.

Self installs FTW!

Cliff notes, exhaust has some adjustment, loosen it up slightly and adjust it so it doesn't rub.

Nissan contracted out superman to install stock exhaust nuts on the Z.

It was a nightmare getting mine off to install my Hi-Tech. I've installed dozens of exhausts on other vehicles and the Z nuts are exponentially harder to get off than any other car. Major Suck.

I always increase the labor time by 3 times when doing work on it myself. It sucks... it's like a curse or something.
