seems like it really changed the tone of the exhaust

i guess the muffler is the main part of that "VQ" tone

i use to own a srt4. a muffler is a must on all cars, the srt4 got away with it because a turbo is considered a muffler. turbo acutally lowers the sound of the exhaust. and the srt4 has two resonators.
just a little fyi

Funny ^ I never heard anyone refer to a turbo as a "muffler".

Sounds a lot like the invidia exhaust I used to have...i ended up replacing the cats with test pipes and it became way too loud for me.

it is individuals like this that give the 350Z a bad name and be lumped into the ricer category. way to go.

Ha ha ha im sure they give out exhaust tickets all the time. Every state has exhaust noise laws, but do they usually enforce, no. Quit being a *****.

Sounds a little louder and the rear looks a little cleaner without the muffler.

anyone try "gutting" the stock muffler? dinan does that with some stuff and usually turns out not so bad.

1500+ for TI exhaust to shave a few pounds or muffler delete to shed more for less? How is this rice? I was thinking of doing the same thing but with 3" straight pipes and open dumps I'm sure it'd be toooo loud.

I'm sure any cop can see the exhaust hanging down & I am sure this would be suspicion enough to check out the exhaust system, ghetto to say the least

i am glad to see someone else had this idea, i posted a similiar thread
a while back and got bashed and flamed etc..

my idea was a little different, i was going to remove rear exhaust section
and just run a single pipe from the mid-pipe to the left exit on the bumper
for track days to save weight and increase sound which would be a more
simple approach to what the op has done

i already have a full system from headers back and is not loud enough
for track use but sounds nice on the street with no drone

Interesting idea and looks well done! all though, you should start looking into buying someones stock muffler... It ends up being a beacon cops zone in on!

i still have the stock muffler just in case i need to put it back on for some reason..minus the tips..in the next couple months i'm getting some magnaflow double walled tips to put on so it will look a little nicer than the stock tips.
