Default Pop charger+snorkel?

before anyone asks, i searched pop charger+snorkel and ran threw 3 pages without finding anything.

so, i just installed my pop charger today, must say i'm a fan.

however, i didn't have a drill so i couldn't get the tiny screws that go into the snorkel. i figured this was just to keep it more stable? however my brother with a g35 has a pop charger and doesn't even have a snorkel he claims. he just used the ledge mount and has been fine.

do i have anything to worry about? and if so, could i totally remove the snorkel? it looked to me as just a better connector for the stock airbox.

Isn't heat shield attached to the snorkel by two little screws that you have to drill the holes for? Yes it is!

I just installed my heatshield today. I didn't even use a drill. The plastic snorkel isn't that strong at all. I just took a screwdriver, and screwed it in the plastic. Whats the big deal? I'd screw it in there. It took me a total of 2 mins to do.

I just have one screw in the snorkel. Works fine. Just install the heat shield. Use a paperclip to make a small spot through the screw hole. Take off the snorkel, make a hole, then install and screw.

then you have the heatshield on halfass. Whats the big deal in screwing it in? Why be halfass with a $35k + sports car? Do it right man!

I heated up a small screw driver with a torch and jammed it through the snorkel to make a hole for the screw. Worked out fine for me!
