Default Side Exhaust Anyone?

Has anyone installed a custom side exhaust on their z? i am extremely interested in having a custom setup made for my car, but was wondering about clearence problems or anything that might hinder the install proccess of a killer sounding n/a exhaust setup. i would prefer a streamlined exit. (somethig that follows the contour of the car) i have not seen a single z with this kind of setup, and think it might be loud and mean as hell. i already have a straight pipe w/ race pipes and that sounds pretty intimidating, but side exhaust would make the cops **** blood from 5 miles away... any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks --joey

You want to do a side exit near the door? Definitely going to have clearance difficulties. Just put the car on a lift and look at the front area.

it's only stupid to those that don't share the same taste. i was simply asking anyone who has contemplated it or had fabricated it already. not everyone wants a big oversized fart can at the back of an otherwise sleek car. (which is what i have right now) some of us actually don't want to hear a 20,000 watt sound system. we prefer the sound of the road and our car.

-i would much rather start a very short thread than read through about 10 pages of random exhaust crap just to get a bunch of jibberish about questions i did not have...

-if anyone has anything productive to add, i would greatly appreciate it. i have been under the car many times before, just wanted to know if anyone had worked out any way of getting the setup made withoud going into the interior of the vehicle. thanks--j

I found a thread that was several pages long that had all the info you'd need. It only took me a 2 word search and reviewing 3 pages. Do some searching and reading my friend. You'll have good results.

i guess i can understand your taste (not that i share the same with you or anything) but if you wanted to do a side exhaust setup, you bought the wrong car to be doing it to.
many people have done alot of different types of "custom" and unique work on our cars, not only does it look nice and functional, but one of the main purpose is.. will it suit the car?
people love the side exhaust ideal on a truck or some kind of american muscle car, lets just leave it like that.
plus..if you did somehow manage to wedge a muffler under your sideskirts, you wouldnt be able to even have a decent drop and be the laughing stock of my350z

not looking to wedge a muffler under the skirts... i don't know i guess i'll just leave it at that. thank you (bluezup) for not coming off like an ***, like so many people tend to do on these types of forums. it's amazing what we all could acomplish if we were just civilized with one another...

if you look at this month's issue of turbo magazine (i think it's turbo) or maybe import tuner, there is a g37 witth a trick skyline side exhaust. it's pretty much what i'd love to do with this car... oh well

-as far as being the laughing stock of a group... eh whatever. anyone that knows me on a personal level knows i could give a **** less about a stranger's opinion about my character or tastes. have a good one. --j

She is leaving today. I have no clue what to say to her upon her exit.

I have lost my appetite and I am not hungry anymore. Sorry davidv, but this is my last post.
