Default single exhaust

am i gonna lose torque with a 3" single?
i have the turboxs exhaust which is 3". but a single would have less flow.

Both of them has 3" y-pipe back piping, just a diff is muffler/muffler tip.

well what about the big muffler on the turboxs.

anyone think JIC > turboxs (or any other 3'' dual cat-back?)

both are 3" single exhausts, only the turboxs has a dual tip. I like the sound of the JIC more.

3" true dual exhausts are only for turbo vehicles. Don't get one unless you are turbo or are shortly going turbo.

No, not at all.

An open exhaust behind the Ypipe has no loss of TQ. There is essentially nothing left to scavenge after the Y so the only thing to consider is minimizing pressure drop from that point on back.

And every Y pipe has either 2.25" or 2.5" primaries. This is where scavenging is still viable. (in the primaries)

Dual 3" exhausts lose TQ because they don't have the small 2.25" or 2.5" primries found in Y pipes.

EDIT:
And the exhaust gasses from each bank must be merged to optimize scavenging from the conjugate exhaust bank.

i think all 3 inch singles sound better then the turboxs. I think it kinda sucks myself. If using stock cats it sounds OK at best. With test pipes it sounds horrible.

Well, with the 3" single, at least the OP is gonna be super loud like he wants.

I would trade in that turboxs exhaust for a 3in. single like JIC, AP, or AAM. They all sound nice.

You have been considering this for a while now. The turboxs sounds kind of weird, not really feeling it.

i love the angled exhaust's. The reason im prob not going with the JIC is because it is straight. Straight exhaust for dual is good but if single i think the angle makes it look great.

ehh idk dude. i dont think it fits the car too great in my opinion. my friends 240 s14 silvia looks nice cuz its angled to the side and up a little.
i think it would look pretty sick on a z if it was angled up a little. cuz the angled exhausts are just pushed to the side
