Does anyone knows the Hydrosheild from Injen really do its trick?
I just recently got a good deal on Injen cold air intake, part number SP1986. But many friends told me to get a short ram just in case for hydrolock, so i did some research, find out that AEM has a bypass that can avoid the hydrolock, and Injen has a hydrosheild.
So I have two questions to the experience one...
1. Dose anybody knows if is possible to use AEM bypass on a injen intake?
2. Does the Injen hydrosheild really do its trick? Reason I ask this is because the material it uses is just something close to umbrella hydrophobic.
Need to install the intake soon try to get some info fast.
Thanks

I got the injen intake and use to have the hydro shield works great for keepin water out if its raining but its not magic thats why i had to have my engine replaced due to hydro lock( wasnt happy bout that one) lets jus say i have the injen short ram now and havent had any problem,IMHO the cold air injen intake isnt worth the hassle..
you will not hydrolock an engine unless you park and idle in a very deep puddle and sit there until the engine dies. normal driving in rain will not hydrolock an engine either. if you are that worried about it stick with the OEM intake or get a short ram.
you would know this if you had "done your research" like you say you did
